Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses

RoseMarie , on October 13, 2019 at 3:58 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 13

Hey ya'll my wedding is coming up March 7th, 2020 and I am really struggling to narrow down bridesmaid dresses. I really like the theme where you have different shades of pink. I also like the mismatched look of chiffon and sequins.

I have gotten swatches from davids bridal, jj house, and azazie and dont like how any of the colors go together. Not to mention they look completely different in person from the photos on the website.

Has anyone in the past or is currently doing a look like this and if so, where did you get your dresses? Thoughts and suggestions are welcomed.

A friend of mine did this for her wedding and the dresses turned out great. I will suggest to stick with one store as those designs will compliment one another compared to having multiple dresses from multiple stores.

Hey, thanks for your reply. Do you know what store she used?

I believe David's - everyone in my area uses them- as there's not too many affordable bridal places.

I’m not sure if my scenario is similar. I’m going with the same color and length dress and my ladies and pick the style top to flatter them the best.

As previously mentioned, pick a store and stay with them. The store designers should compliment each other well.

i believe that my friends that have done this in the past used David’s. Does one of the stores have a color that you like the best? Sometimes the fabric changes the color of the dress. Could you potentially take a few of your bridesmaids to a bridal store and have them try on dresses and try to mix the styles and see how you like it?

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I decided to go with Lulus. The girls can choose any fabric/ style as long as its blush or rose gold. Also, the dress has to be long. I'm excited to see what they choose 🤞

It’s definitely exciting to see the different personalities come out. My 6 ladies had the free range of picking a short, teal dress. It’s funny to see how they are similar in styles. 2 of them have a crisscross detail on the front but the dresses aren’t the same. 2 of them have 1 shoulder strap (one is Lacey and the other one isn’t). I honestly can’t remember the other 2 but they were similar as well. I’m definitely excited to see them all together in their dresses in 12 days! 🥰

I didn't mix & match colors, but I gave them a color fabric and length and they picked their own dress. I was happy with how they complimented each other but still looked individual.

I love the mismatched bridesmaids look and think those dusty pinks, blush colors, and champagnes are so pretty together. I think Lulu's is a great choice as well, because the dresses are super affordable. Your bridesmaids will really appreciate being able to choose a dress style that flatters them and not having to spend a fortune. The one reason I wish I had a larger wedding party is to be able to do this!

Yes, they all got their dresses from Azazie. I gave them a color, fabric & length and they picked out of 100+ dresses.
