Minted or Zazzle? idk what to do!

Casey, on April 15, 2018 at 12:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

I'm torn between both right now. I have invitations on each site that I really like. But the problem is, Minted is about $400 - $500 more for everything, but that is including the envelopes that will already be addressed to my guests, as well as the return envelopes.

The Zazzle invitations don't seem quite as nice quality (I could be wrong), and envelopes don't come with and then I would have to address everything, which I hate to do because my writing will not be so good!

So... is it worth the xtra money?!!

Have you ever received invites from either?

I went minted and then I received an invite from minted and ended up saying "Good call, Beth! These make a really good impression!"

I’m doing minted!!! I’ve looked tirelessly at vista print, Shutterfly, zazzle, Etsy, snapfish and minted was the ONLY website I found where I found ones that I loved! Of course I fell in love with a STD that didn’t have a matching invitation and vice versa, but they match pretty well so I’m ok with that!

I just think minted has such good quality options plus they do the envelope addressing for you! I only need 35 of each so my price is only around 150-175 for both which I can live with with!

Minted has top quality stationary. I got a few samples and received the different types of papers and envelopes they have. Cost about $25. You can literally feel the difference.

Zazzle works with a bunch of other sites like elegantweddinginvitations.com they are very beautiful but they're not as top quality as they look online. I also got samples from them for about $15.

I loved ours from Zazzle! For our wedding invites, because we chose an invitation rich in color, I chose upgraded ink (maybe paper too). Good call. For our local reception invite, I used default settings which worked fine but not super high-end quality.

I also paid the $9.99 for one-year free shipping. Awesome deal for all the separate orders I made: STD, invite, menu, reception invite, thank you card, and ordered a few extra when we ran low. I also design the cards in my account then wait for a 40-60% off sale!

Keep in mind, except you (maybe your mom & MIL), everyone else throws invites away. Unless you have a small number to buy, or invites are really really important to you, that extra $500 will come in handy elsewhere.

We went with Vistaprint because people just throw them away. Vista print's basic paper was too thin for my taste. There was no reason for us to spend $800 on invitations on another site.

He was so picky with the invites too it was a saga.

I used Zazzle for an engagement announcement (for older relatives that aren't on FB) and the basic paper wasn't my favorite but the quality of the print was nice. There is a groupon for zazzle rn but it is only on certain invites.

I'm still undecided as well and want to keep my invitation cost as low as possible while still looking nice. But I'm leaning towards minted. I got a free sample pack a while ago from them and everything looks and feels very very nice. I'm with you on having terrible hand writing and would prefer to have them pre addressed.

I've considered maybe printing them at home. However, I hand designed and printed invites for my sister's baby shower last fall and ended up spending quite a bit of time and more money than I thought I would need to because my printer went through ink faster than I anticipated. The did turn out really nice though.

I just got my free samples from minted today and they are really nice, they sent sample envelopes too which are good quality. Someone else posted on here about the free samples I think the code was free10? But you could do that and see if you like them

Quality wise I prefer minted! I ended up going with inviations from Etsy- embellishments, shimmer card stock and envelopes, all the upgrades I wanted ended up costing $100 less than minted. I was surprised but very happy I shopped around before ordering.

Can you order a sample from both to see in person? I know minted sells samples for $1 and free with promo codes. I dont know about zazzle. I will say I ordered samples from minted and liked their quality, but they are pricey. I ended up going with a vendor on etsy.

I used shutterfly and am so satisfied with my product! I've received many compliments on them and they are well made and look like they could have been worth more. Also shutterfly regularly has 50% off stationary so I saved over $240 on my order!! I wouldn't spend a whole lot on a product knowing they are going to be thrown away

I am using Minted and I love the design I choose, love the quality, love the matching website, etc. That being said, after ordering STDs, Invites, Table numbers, and Escort cards.... they are very expensive! I do sort of wish I had exhausted all other options before I ordered the STDs and committed myself to an increased expense. Minted does beautiful work though!

Minted invitations are gorgeous! But I ended up using Zazzle because of cost and because I know they'll all (except maybe 2) end up in the trash. Sad, but true.

Did you sign up for the minted email list? They send promo codes almost every week. They range 25%-50% off. I'm not sure when you need to order by. But if you have some flexibility in waiting to order that may be a good option for you.

Did you write out the envelopes yourself?

Yes. I had a friend do calligraphy on the invites for our DW (only 15) and then I printed labels for our local reception invites/thank you cards. Not sure if they have an address label service but that would have been so helpful!

I have one that I love on Minted and another one on Etsy that a sample is being mailed to me. It’s cheaper then the All in ones on Minted but doesn’t have the addresses printed. We still have time to decide.
