Minted All-in-one Invites

FutureMrsKC, on July 19, 2018 at 4:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Let's talk about these invites y'all...

I've been team Vistaprint for a long time and fully intended to get all of my invite stuff from them as my STD's and other paper products have come from there no problem.

I love Minted but the hefty price tag always kept me away. I pretty much priced out that what I'd spend on invites/RSVP card//and details cards are similar to the all-in-one price on Minted.I was looking at the all-in-one invites and for those of you who have used them (or received one) I have some questions!

I'm sure the quality is great, but do you think the RSVP card basically being a "rip off postcard" is easy or weird? Do you put the stamp for the RSVP card on it somewhere? I don't know how I feel about having that info not in an envelope.

I also don't know if I like the idea of any of it not being in an envelope. I'm sending invites in November, so I don't want to get it ruined in the winter weather up north.

I'm basically looking for someone to talk me into or talk me out of buying them. Thanks!

I havent bought anything yet but I definitely wouldnt be buying anything postcard style. It’s too easy to ruin them that way.

IMO, they’re still expensive versus just doing a flat invite in an envelope with a postcard RSVP. I did postcard RSVPs for my first wedding, and while some came back with smudges on them, the info was all readable and it was fine since I just threw them away once I recorded the RSVP. While I’d do a postcard RSVP again (and likely will) I wouldn’t do an invite without an envelope for fear they’d show up to guests not looking nice.

They are actually pretty nice in person. I ordered 10 free samples using their code and two of the samples I chose are the all in one invites. I ordered the palm leaf invites and they are very cute. I didn't end up going with them but they are cute.

I should add that my STDs and invites are from Minted and even though they are slightly more expensive they are such good quality. To me nothing we sampled looks as good, plus their customer service is awesome so it's all worth it.

Minted does coupons also. I’ve seen 20% off ones & others have stated that if you create a website & spend over $150 you can get a $50 credit.

I can't remember if it was another post or a friend telling me, but I heard they dont lay flat so some post offices made them tape the sides down or pay extra postage for wider mailing.

I'm not sure about minted, but I personally enjoyed designing my own invites/RSVP card on Vistaprint. It was EXACTLY what I wanted. We did invites, RSVP & I paid for my bridal shower invites for my mom all for $75 - including shipping. It was so fun to design them all myself and I have gotten SO many compliments. It's still a template though so it's not like you're doing anything crazy. Mine are really cute though they even have our intials on the back.

I read in a forum that someone who used postcards wished they hadn't. Many of their returned cards were illegible and they had to contact a lot of people to get RSVP info

I used minted's all in 1 invites and loved them! There's a spot marked on the RSVP postcard for a stamp and it gets all folded inside when you mail them to recipients. Minted sends clear stickers and instructions on how to seal the two sides and middle flap so the post office shouldn't have any issues with it. We also didn't have to pay any extra postage due to sizing or weight, just normal stamps... Not sure if or why others had trouble with any of that. Like I said, I loved them and they worked wonderfully for us!

We did have a few guests put their RSVP postcard in an envelope and mail it back to us that way, I suppose because they hadn't seen it before or didn't trust that it would arrive safely or something. But I had no issues with legibility or cards being damaged or anything! Quality was good and customer service was great!

I love them! I ordered the samples and they are much sturdier than a typical “postcard” they are the same card stock as the standard Minted invitation. I am using the all in one “winterscript” it’s simple and beautiful and you get 50$ off if you do the premium website.

I have received one and it was really nice! They did not stamp the RSVP card though and I did not have any stamps, so I RSVP'd online. I am actually going to that wedding this weekend!

I order them for our wedding and I love them! You really can't beat the price. They cost less than half the price of the traditional invitations in the exact same design!

Ive read that some people have issues at the post office with them laying flat so I sealed them closed and piled books on too just in case. I plan on sending them out by the end of the week so I can keep anyone who is interested updated.

Update: I ordered 10 free samples of different designs I liked so I could see the quality in person! I’m definitely impressed and they’re very sturdy and just as beautiful as the regular flat invites. They didn’t send stickers though so I can’t say anything about that but for the designs I chose they look just as formal as any other invite would (though I’m not having a black tie wedding so I don’t need extremely formal invites) and with the addresses all printed for you it really saves a headache. I’m definitely considering these for my wedding now.

Update: we mailed them out on Friday and hit a little bit of a snag. Apparently some local post offices won't machine sort the all in one invitations. We had to pay an additional 21¢ per invitation. Kinda of annoying but I contacted minted's customer service and they credited my account for 10% of our order.

I would still totally recommend the the all in one invitations but definitely take them to your local post office before getting stamps.

For the record, the invitations do fit the requirements for machine sorting according to the USPS website 🤷🏼‍♀️
