Minted all in one invitations questions

Kristen, on February 13, 2020 at 9:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Hi! We are planning on doing the all in one invitations from minted. I really want to spend as little money as possible on invitations without it looking really cheap. These seem like a nice option and I like that minted will print addresses for you.

I was wondering if anyone had ordered the value paper rather than the standard paper? and if that was good enough or did it feel flimsy and cheap?

Also what is the postage required? Is it .55 cent stamps for invitations and .35(postcard) stamps for RSVP's?

Any other tips or things to know from peoples experiences from these inviations?

Thanks!

We used minted and loved them, I believe you can order a few free samples of their paper before ordering.

I would also monitor their sales, I’m pretty sure they change every Tuesday, and you can purchase and then still edit the invites. This was awesome for us because we were able to take advantage of a really good discount when we hadn’t finalized all of our details.
I will also add that their membership is very worth the discount! I think it was like $35 for 12 months and it gave us 20% off (some something around that) on basically anything we ordered, including thank you and Christmas cards.

We ordered samples and couldn’t tell the difference between the two types of paper, so we went with the value paper.
Yes, .55 stamp for the invitation and .35 for the RSVP.

We ended up going with the standard paper because we felt like it seemed nicer than the value when we ordered samples. I have the Honey app/browser extension and used that to figure out when I could get the best discount. I just ordered mine last week and got 25% off! I haven't seen sales on invites better than that.

Order the sample set it really helped me. They tend to have sales often so just sign up for there email alerts and you can save so much. My FSIL uses them. She’s getting married two months before us and her cane out great.

For RSVP cards, you may want to write in a symbol or number that corresponds to your guest list - even if there's a blank line for your guests to fill in their names on the response card, you should count on those lines being left blank. The last thing you want is an RSVP card that just says "we're coming". Whether it's a little number on the corner that ties to your master guest list or what, be sure to mark each RSVP card once you get them back from Minted.

I used these invitations and just dropped them off to the post office! I used the standard paper, but I don't see why the value wouldn't be just as good. When I went to the post office they informed me I needed a 75 cent stamp on them, I just had the forever 55 cent on them. I had to purchase an extra 15 cent stamp for each one. Be smarter than me, purchase the 75 cent stamp! The RSVP are good with a postcard stamp. These are a great value and just what we needed.

Does this differ by state ? I went to my post office with a sample and she told me forever stamps is what I would need and I already bought 100 stamps for my invitations ... I’ll be very annoyed if they change their mind and tell me I now need 75 cent stamps

My post office also told me I needed forever stamps to mail them. I’m hoping they were correct since I dropped the in the mail today.

Same! Lol. I wish I would've weighed them beforehand. Glad I dropped off in person!

I have no idea if this differs by State. I went to my local post office and was told it was because it was of the size of the folded envelope.

Same! We did the Minted all in one and I am glad I did! They look really nice and were a great value. I made a lot of changes to the way I wanted them to look - changed the format and what/how things were written. I waited to order until they were running a 20% off and I am glad I did. However, I might have ordered them too early, as addresses for some guests have changed. Which is a bummer, since they were all so nicely addressed. But whatever, I'll just slap a label over it and call it a day. Smiley smile

I am glad someone brought up discrepancies with the stamps. I will make sure I double check this in person before I drop mine off.
