Mini moon then honey moon?

Lecette, on December 16, 2019 at 12:11 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 18
Hi Brides to be!

For your honeymoon are you leaving right after the wedding or are you waiting. I can’t decide on what would be the best option. So I’m curious as to how you came up with your decision. I’ve heard some people are going on a mini moon then taking their honeymoon a couple months down the road.

Well most likely we are doing a destination elopement which will result in a mini moon and then the honeymoon a bit later.

We left the day after our wedding on our honeymoon and were gone 4 nights. For others I guess that would count as a mini-moon, but for me personally I don’t really understand why honeymoons need to be long, big vacations so we chose what worked for us (and my daughter’s schedule) and called it a honeymoon.

We're doing a traditional honeymoon right after the wedding. That was one of the things that I had always dreamed of when I imagined what my wedding would be like. I also think that if we don't do it right after the wedding, then we won't ever get around to it!

We are going on a cruise the Monday after our Saturday wedding for 5 nights. We will probably do something bigger for our one year because the budget is tight right now. I think to save costs a mini moon is great but I would still call it a honeymoon no matter how long you go for or how far away it is. I have heard to definitely do something the first few days after in order to relax a bit after the wedding before going back to reality.

We're leaving for our honeymoon the night of our wedding (Sunday), coming home Friday, and then spending the weekend at home relaxing before we have to go back to work. As PP said, some couples consider that a "mini-moon", but that's more than enough time for us.

We’re doing a short cruise right after our wedding because I found a good deal and it was very affordable. Then about 6 months later we’ll be going on a “real” honeymoon. We’re still deciding where we want to go, but we’re considering Portugal or Fiji!

Our wedding is in April, but my FH is a teacher so we aren’t going on our honeymoon until June. My friends went on their honeymoon almost a year after their wedding because that’s when they were able to afford it. So Just do what is best for you!

We are doing a mini-moon after our DW, just staying 2 extra nights without family. We are both workaholics so we are heading back home. Wedding and mini-moon will be less than a week!

We haven't thought of a honeymoon yet...

I think it depends on affordability, time and preferences. We're getting married in Jamaica two days after we arrive and staying a total of 7 days. This is ending up being cheaper than a one day wedding.

I'm a teacher, and I thought I'd picked the Saturday before my fall break to get married. I just recently saw next school year's proposed calendar, and it turns out I have the week before my wedding off. Not bad, but now we have to wait until Christmas break to take our honeymoon. We'll go to a hotel for a couple of days after the wedding.

We ran out of money and vaca days for a honeymoon! 🤪 So we enjoyed a luxurious mini-moon for a few nights. We planned a Europe honeymoon on our 1st year anniversary... but due to life stuff it looks like our 3rd year anniversary. Fine by me! I’m just excited to celebrate again. 🎉

We didn't do anything right after our wedding. We didn't see the point of spending money on a mini moon then a big trip a couple months later/we couldn't go right away due to FH's work schedule. We leave January 2nd for Thailand! FH proposed doing a cheaper trip in January (which honestly was hard to find as Thailand is an affordable vacation already) then do Thailand for our 1 year anniversary. I told him that was stupid and spending more money nonetheless when we can just get it done now!

We are thinking a local vacation for a weekend or atleast four days and then a longer destination trip a year later. We want to make sure our finances are right so we can really enjoy ourselves

We are planning a mini moon. 3 days, 2 night at a B&B. Then a year or so later we are planning a week long cruise to be out honeymoon. This may we get to enjoy some time together after the wedding.

Because of my work schedule we’re thinking of doing a mini moon after the wedding and then a honey moon about 3 months later. If no mini moon happens, its no big deal. I just want 2-3 days to sit and think about the wedding day 🥰
