Mini-moon recommendations near Nyc?

You could do the Poconos or find a Groupon for a couple days in Hawaii

We are doing a mini moon in August to Niagara Falls. Groupon always has deals for the pocono hotels with the hot tubs in the rooms.

Adirondacks? Or a Bed-N-Breakfast in Vermont.

The Catskills or Adirondacks, The Poconos, Niagra Falls, Jim Thorpe or even Philly if you were looking for something in a city.

What time of the year? If it’s summer time check out block island, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.

I was also thinking maybe the Mohonk Mountain House or spending a few days in Portland, ME

Also, we are true New Yorkers, so we don't have a car (and my FH doesn't have a license!), so I'm thinking places easy to get to by public transportation (i.e. train, bus, plane)

My FH and I are going to Ogunquit, ME for our mini moon and then going to Ocean City, MD for our honey moon. Honestly though, either of those would be great mini moon destinations in relation to NYC.

I'm in NYC and went to Montreal for our mini-moon. It's a quick plane trip from JFK.

I would suggest Niagara Falls. That's where we are going

I second Mohonk Mountain House - I've always wanted to go.

It isn't far, it's all-inclusive, and no need to have a car there - can probably train up there and uber/taxi to resort.

Other idea is Amtrack to Washington DC. So much to do/explore, great restaurants, and definitely do not want a car! Everything accessible by metro system.

If you are baseball fans, there's always Cooperstown. It has more than just the Hall of Fame, and is a teeny, tiny town in the Catskills - super pretty and adorable.

Could you splurge on the Hamptons?

Or even the Jersey Shore...

All of these places have options to get there from NYC.
