Mini cakes

Mini cakes 1
We're doing about 120 of these "mini cakes" instead of cupcakes. It's about $1050 for the whole, plus the decorations and delivery/assembly. Is that a good deal or am I being overcharged? No other bakery is willing to do them. Should I give up the idea of them and go with cupcakes? I have no idea.

That’s a great deal for 120 of those! These types of cakes are very labor intensive even when larger so I’m surprised you found anyone willing to do the mini ones.

It sounds like a good deal for the amount of labor involved. That being said, I personally wouldn't want to pay that much for cake. So it's really up to you if you feel like the extra cost is worth it for having mini cakes instead of a full sized cake or cupcakes.

Insanely good deal and those are beautiful! Have you tasted them yet? I’d want to make sure they were delicious as well as pretty.

We're doing spice cakes with peaches and vanilla buttercream and I'm so flipping excited about them. The place we're getting them from is pretty decent cake too

What do gourmet wedding cupcakes usually cost in your area? Cupcakes themselves are more expensive than cake in general due to the labor of making individual desserts rather than a tiered cake. Then you have these sliced and filled like mini cakes, increasing the labor costs. So $1050 for 120 is on the cheap side and I would feel like the bakery isn’t charging enough for their work in order to stay afloat. But considering it is a good deal. Make sure you have forks with these, and cupcakes in general, because there is no dainty way to eat them with your fingers and not get your face covered in frosting.

If this is helpful when considering cupcakes: we’re doing gourmet cupcakes and were quoted $478 for 150 (no delivery/decor/setup).

I would say yes that’s a steal! That’s how much we are paying for our cake and if you think about it all those little tiny cakes take a lot of time to make! If you like it and your budget allows then I say go for it!

That's a really good deal, especially for decoration and set up! They are adorable. Great idea!
