Mingling with guests pre ceremony

Grace, on November 22, 2017 at 10:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 3

We're having our ceremony and brunch reception in a private room at a restaurant. There is literally no where for me to wait before the ceremony, except either in the stairwell leading up to the room or outside (in March, in Chicago. No thanks!) We're doing first look pictures 9-9:45 and will likely get to the venue around 10:15.

Would it be better to have a 10:30 ceremony time or just mingle with guests before an 11am ceremony?

Also indicating that the ceremony is starting while we're already in the room is a problem as well. We could just have the officiant ask everyone to take their seats? Has anyone else had to do something like this?

We greeted our guests at the church. The look of surprise on their faces!

And the officiant is a great resource for gathering everyone Smiley smile

We ended up mingling with some early-show-er-uppers, and it was NBD. I was glad to get some face time with them!!
