Can your husband head back before you and you could travel with your daughter a few days later? My ex-husband (who I share custody of my 8 year old with) has been in the Army for 13 years. So many times we’ve had to readjust plans (even post divorce with custody visits and such) because of the army so I totally get the disappointment.

View Quoted Comment I guess he could yeah I forgot to mention as a wedding gift my uncle bought us plane tickets.(he already bought them) We already knew that wasn’t a good idea since military changes a lot but he can change the dates since it’s off of his work airline if that makes sense. But yes it’s disappointing still trying to stay positive about it 😅

Navy wife here — 100% know you feel! This year has been rough for travel and not seeing family. To top it off, we almost weren’t even able to get married last June in OBX due to the travel restrictions but the captain of my husband’s ship approved to exceed the radius THANK GOD!! Now, a year later we are finally having our “wedding celebration” in the OBX with our family and friends and I cannot even wait!! Stay strong girl — everything happens for a reason! ❤️

I spent 20 years as a spouse, and the six years previously active duty.
The unpredictability is really hard. Once you are married and have legal status, you will not be separated as much, that’s a plus!
