Military Family

Being a sister of a military brother is hard, yesterday I got the call I've been waiting for to find out of he was approved his leave to come home for the wedding next Friday the 19th. However that phone call ended with I wasn't approved to come home for the wedding. My heart shattered. I knew it was a major possibility he wouldn't be able to come home for the wedding, but not having my big brother there is also heartbreaking. Im not mad I understand what he does is so important and I'm so proud of everything he has accomplished but I can't say it doesn't hurt to have them. I Lost my dad when I was 12 both my grandfathers past away as well. I only have my brother and my uncle left of the two men around my whole life so it just sucks I won't get to dance with my big brother or hug him. just a heavy heart right now

I’m so sorry. I can only imagine how hard that is for you. Maybe you could have someone FaceTime him the ceremony so he feels included?

I am so sorry. My FH is in the Navy and I am currently in the dilemma that he may be sent to OCS during our wedding, meaning he would not be able to come home.... We are kind of rolling the dice, being that we just found this out last week that it is a possibility and our wedding is 119 days away.

FaceTime is a good option to have him there and to see you get married. Still, it is a very tough situation to be in.

If you need anything or just want to talk to a fellow military (future) bride, just let me know!

Awww I’m sorry it didn’t turn out for you. Maybe someone can FaceTime him during the ceremony so he can see everything. I know it won’t make up for him being there but it might help. Good luck!

I'm sorry he was denied! Military life is not an easy one. My best friend got married last summer to her military man, and he didn't get approved until the Tuesday before their Friday wedding. It's rough. I hope you can find a way to include him.

I'm so sorry to hear that. My FH and I were planning on doing our ceremony in November of 2018 but my dad was deployed to Afghanistan in August. We had to put it off for a year in order to have my dad there. I'm sorry you are going through this, much love Smiley heart
