Military Discounts

Karisma, on March 7, 2020 at 12:42 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

How do we use the most of our Military Discount? Does anyone know any Venues in the Tri-State that give the discounts? Not just on hotel rooms?

There's more than one tri-state area, so more details on where you're located may get you better suggestions.

Do you have any venues in mind? If so, I would certainly ask if they do anything for the military as most do not advertise but it's worth asking at places. I'm in SWFL, so I know I'm not really much help unless you were getting married down here.

Most Venue's do, you just have to ask for it upfront. I made sure to ask about the Military discount in every conversation with a new Vendor and most are accommodating and will give 10%. I know my venue in Long Island did, as did DJ and Photographer (both from Queens).

Just let them know... Hey so and so is in the military is their any courtesy that can be extended?

I've talked to a lot of venues and so far only 1 they didn't have military discount and stated that they were willing to work something out. But yes vendors has been accommodating. Just having bad luck with venues especially in our price range. Which Venue did you use?

Really?! That was one of our top on our list. Its beautiful, I loved the breakout rooms. I never asked them about military discounts. We were looking at their "All inclusive" packaging. It became out of budget for 125 after taxes and fees. I did love that one. There was close photo opportunities nearby that I loved. Like the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium that place is so beautiful! From pictures that I've seen. Maybe i should re-look at Smithtown now that i know. If they still have my date.

Lol I love lists for everything I make lists! Its so helpful. Do you think if see did our own vendors instead of their package deal that they provide it might be cheaper?

I was wondering about that. A package deal without thinking about going around finding vendors sounds way better. But each vendor seemed like they're missing things. That I would still have to pay out of pocket for. Like the floral packages I would have to still pay for more center pieces and brides maid flowerd and the photography package needed updating. Lol and I didn't even think of having a limo. Until I seen it in the package. That's good to know about the separate vendors.

We aren't even getting limos ceremony is on site the only thing were getting a is shuttle to and from hotel so that's one cost eliminated. I didn't like the DJ my family is all Hispanic so I needed someone I knew would keep the party going and for photography I didn't like the companies they used seemed so cookie cutter I wanted someone who had creativity.

You're absolutely right. I'm black and Puerto Rican and my fiancé is Puerto rican. I was worried that the DJ wouldn't get into the feel and rhythm and understanding. Really multicultural. Playing all the hits. Lol
