Military brides/wives

janessa, on March 20, 2019 at 2:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

For my military brides or fiancé's,

My fiancé and I have a set date as of right now but I'm scared that it might change do to new orders, underway, or deployments. How did you guys figure out a good date and not have to worry about them being gone, Also for honeymoons are they able to take leave ?

My venue told us if my fiancé deployed after we booked than we could reschedule within the same calendar year without penalty.

I would suggest getting married then probably planning a honeymoon after his deployment. I would talk to venues in your area, I assume a lot work with military brides if you live near a base!

Alot of military couples just go to the courthouse first, then have a wedding and a honeymoon at a more convenient time. You can use leave for a honeymoon

We picked a federal holiday weekend (Labor Day) since they typically are generous with days off, but now he’s in special training and his leave getting approved is up the air and I’m having a major panic attack. Also from what I understand if you’re going to do a honeymoon it should probably be in the US. Lots of commands don’t like to approve leave for outside continental US.
