Might have to...

With my weight loss journey that I am on, my weight is coming off nicely. I have already lost a dress size. In the month of August I've lost nearly 20 pounds. I'm not going to slow down my weight loss but I have to keep in mind that I may have to get a different wedding dress.

If I do, shall I go with same dress but smaller size or get a new dress style? My dress was ordered in two sizes smaller than I was at the beginning of August. With alterations, going to go from zipper to corset.

I know a dress can be taken in a few sizes smaller, without changing the dress too much. But I just have to look at the reality of the possibility of a new dress.

    With a year left to go and depending on how much more you want to lose it could definitely be a problem for your dress. I would talk to your seamstress and set a date to revisit the fit of your dress; leaving yourself enough time to order another one if needed. Congratulations on your weight loss! That’s a big accomplishment in 1 month.

    Thank you. I will be seeing the seamstress after the holidays. I love my dress, but I have seen a few that I would have loved to try on but they didn't make in plus size. So, at least I do have other options, lol.

    Since you're okay with the reality that you may have to get a different dress, I say there is no issue in trying on some others when you reach that point. If you still keep coming back to liking your dress more, then just order it in smaller size. If you decide you like another one, you can go with that.

    That is pretty much what my mom said the other day. I'm excited for my success so far, but I'm nervous because dresses are spendy (not counting alterations).
