How’s everyone feeling? Anyone speak to their venues? We’re set to enter phase 4 tomorrow! Can’t wait.

I know i think hes gonna leave it up to local government. a wedding could technically abide by the restaurant guidelines. i guess thats what they need clarification on

Our wedding venue is a restaurant so they said they’re following those capacity guidelines (50%) which would be 100 people but my guest list has been shrinking. I’m actually ok with it shrinking because I don’t want to be the cause of some “super spreader” event. Our venue has a beautiful covered patio so I’m talking with them and the DJ about having the dance floor on the patio instead of indoors. This way people will be less nervous about spreading/catching the virus, and anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable dancing can just sit inside like a normal restaurant. There is a giant glass window in between the dining area and the patio, so they would still be able to see everyone who is dancing similarly to if we were dancing inside. I haven’t seen any info posted about weddings on NY Forward - has anyone been able to find anything?

Theres no information on ny forward yet because technically wedding venues havent been allowed to formally reopen in phase 4 yet. my venue is outdoor and theyre still subject to 50 people even tho the guidelines for outdoor events is 33% capacity or whatever the number is. its all very confusing. my venue also said theyre on a committee thats pushing for guidance from the local government specifically on catering so we can only hope they release that soon.

We’re in New Rochelle in October and we decided to postpone to Feb 2021. We don’t know what the number will be on the amount of guests allowed. I think what came down to it was wanting as much normalcy as possible. We are still getting legally married on our date though! Looking for some pretty outdoor/indoor ceremony spaces in Westchester!

Yeah fingers crossed. My venue said that since they are actually a restaurant that they are following those guidelines and not the gathering guidelines? It’s all REALLY confusing ugh. At least it’s good to know that we will get to have at least 50 people which is better than 25...

My wedding venue is in Jamaica and as crazy as this is the list is growing not shrinking. It's like everyone wants to come as a vacation because we haven't been anywhere since quarantine.
