Michael's store bought invitations..anybody buy these?

Ashley, on November 17, 2013 at 4:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I want to buy invitations from Michaels and print them myself. It seems like the cheap route to go with the 50 percent off an item. It will be about 40 bucks for 60 invitations I think that's a good deal. My question is as anybody done these I'm scared of messing them up, how easy are they?? Are they nice for the price? Thanks in advance ladies!

I did not but I was going to. A friend of mine did and some of the letters were wet when it came out of the printer and then they smudged. I think that is a printer/user error rather than anything wrong with the quality of the actual invitations. We know someone who is ding ours for pretty cheap. Cheaper than what it would have cost to do it that way.

Hi, i bought the BRIDES brand print at home invitations, i think theyre great for the price, 39.99 for 30 invite sets, but im having a calligrapher address them to add a little zazz! They give you and extra one of everything for mistakes, but if youre talking about a different brand other than the BRIDES kit then im not sure. It was easy once i downloaded their little program for printing it correctly, i had to buy another print cartridge to print them all

I bought them but I haven't used them yet. My sister bought some for her wedding and they came out just great. She had almost 200 people, so it was quite a bit of work but she saved quite a bit. I needed 2 40 packs and so we used two 50% coupons (each paid separately) for a total of about $45. Since we are only inviting about 80 total, we have quite a few extra if we mess up (many will be sent to couples) I think you can't beat the price, so I hope they print well!

    These are mine:

I was talking about the BRIDES brand ones they looked the nicest on the shelves. I'm glad to hear they worked out nice for you I'm a little hesitant but trying to do these on a budget. The paper quality is nice I'm assuming?

Those look pretty, I like the folded envelope look I wanted it to look organized in the envelope haha. I have plenty of time I'm not planning on sending them out till after Christmas. I too was going to use two 50 percent coupons I think its amazing deal.

I did mine that way and they turned out great, the trick to not smudging them is to print them one at a time, which is annoying but it makes it so they don't end up bad. Mine turned out wonderful. I actually got many compliments on them. I wouldn't change a thing!

I did I bought 150 for $53. My FH pretty much handled the invites and then schooled me. So if I can do it you can do it too!

I got the BRIDES brand as well. FH is a printer though by trade so I'm sure they will turn out with no issue. We haven't printed them yet though.

As far as quality goes, (I got the ivory and black ones with the inner and outer envelopes), the paper is card stock so it isn't flimsy. I would also print them individually so they won't smudge. I'm sure they will turn out great!

@Katie, I really like those.... what brand are they? I am in the middle of an invitation crisis right now because I didn't know that the Michael's coupons couldn't be used on the MI Designs at Michael's and so I have spent DAYS customizing my invites and falling in love with them only to find that I cannot afford them .... sigh!

I just have to share that I was in an Ollie's Outlet (http://ollies.us/storeLocator/storeLocator.aspx?radius=ALL&postalcode=) the other day and they had gorgeous printable invitations for so cheap!! They were boxes of 50 sets (invitation, pocket card, envelopes, RSVP cards/envelopes) for only $6 (a few color schemes). If I had already figured out our invitations and bought stuff from Pockets & Cards I would have bought these to DIY.

Just thought I would share in case someone was looking for a super deal on invites.
