Metal folding chairs..sash or no sash

Maia, on June 12, 2019 at 9:10 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4
So, the venue that I have for my reception only has metal folding chairs available...which sucks. I didn't think about it at first because we were just trying to find a place to have the reception, but when I saw it decorated for another event I really hated how it looked. My matron of honor thinks that we should put chair sashes over the tops of them to hide the ugly gray metal. We will have approximately 160 guests and she said that she already has 40 chair sashes. Is it worth paying an extra fifty bucks and covering all the chairs or am I the only one who cares about this? I find that our expenses keep getting bigger and bigger and we don't have a lot of money to spend since we are paying for it ourselves. Please help

Can you just rent different chairs all together? There are plenty of companies that offer chair rentals. Then you can select the exact chair you like and don’t have to worry about buying sashes that you will never use again.

I agree with PP but if you can't rent different chairs then can you just use something cheaper to decorate like streamers or ribbon? If you really want to save money, it's totally ok to leave it because chairs are one of those things we worry about but don't actually matter in the end

I agree with the above. Maybe see if you can rent new chairs? I will say I'm renting chairs and they're $1 a piece but I'm getting some simple chairs. It depends on the company for price.
If not then I'd probably get some ribbon or tulle and make a bow or sash just to draw attention away from the chairs if it's bothering you. It's probably your cheaper option.
Honestly though, the chairs won't be a main focus on your big day, I promise! So if you can cut out that expense, I probably would cut it to spending the bare minimum ♥️

I will be honest and tell you that people will not be looking at the chairs - and if they are, they're entirely missing the point! However, if it really is going to bug you and you have the budget to do it, I say go for whatever makes the most sense - decorating the chairs or renting new ones if that is an option.
