Messed up my Save the Dates

Kristen, on July 8, 2019 at 11:31 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13
I’ve read so many posts about this but of course I still messed mine up!

I forgot to add the city & state but I do have a link to my wedding website on it

Should I spend more $ to reorder or just send them as is?

I don't think I'd waste the money to reprint them. Just be sure it's listed on your site!

Where did you order the save the dates from? Many places will let you order a new batch for free if you speak with customer service and explain you made a mistake.

Only two people actually went to my wedding website. If you have the funds to reprint them I would do it. Otherwise I would just text people.

I wouldn’t waste the money. All my save the date said was our names and the date of our wedding.

That is good enough for the time being. Then when they receive the invitation, all other needed info will be given!

It depends on your crowd. Do you think most will check your website? If so, you're fine. If not, you could order a super small business card sized insert if that's cheaper than reordering?

Will a lot of your guests need to make travel arrangements or are they local to the area of your wedding? If a lot need to travel, I would reach out to them to let them know or reprint the save the dates

If a lot of your guests would need to travel (a good portion of mine do), then I would call the company about getting them reprinted. If you just recently got them, they may work with you. Also, know that not many people will view your website, so they may not get the info.

I ordered from VistaPrint. They were delivered a few days ago but I just got back in town and unboxed them.

I’d reach out to their customer service. Good chance they will reprint for free

STD's are really just for people to know the date not the place. That's what invitations are for later on. As PP have said as long as its on your website and its on your invites when those get sent out you should be fine! Don't waste the $ when you could use it on something else!

Whether or not to actual save the date, it know they cannot do it, may depend on travel time and location of the wedding, whether or not they can afford it, or afford lodgings in the area. Do either send the Saves with an immediate follow up email or phone call to say where, exactly, it will be. Or enclose a small cheap to print business card with the missing info included, so names, date, city and state of your wedding.
But do not send them with an expectation of people looking it up someplace, that is simply rude. The host always rovides that info without their searching for it. Otherwise people will look, see no location, and say to themselves, they must be planning some destination wedding and don't even know where yet. Who makes plans that way. And throw it away figuring that when you get it together enough to send all the information, they will think about it, and not before. Which defeats the whole purpose of a Save, giving people advance notice to prepare for costs, and plan travel. Business card format , 4 lines, is a cheap item you can easily do locally. No fancy fonts. Make it something they can scan with any devices easily.
