Mesh illusion dress

Solimar, on May 30, 2020 at 10:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
HI ALL!

I love the look of an illusion neckline with lace, but I'm wondering if it will be uncomfortable and itchy? Due to COVID, I'm currently unable to try them on. Anyone here with experience care to give input?

Everyone reacts to fabrics differently. The illusion mesh is typically pretty smooth against your skin. Some people don't like lace or tulle because they can be rough and scratchy. You won't know for certain until you're able to try it on.

I think it'll depend on the specific dress. I tried mostly lace dresses and some were comfortable and some weren't and felt kind of itchy. Since your wedding is over a year away, you should have plenty of time to try on dresses in person before you have to buy a dress.

Mine was fine! I did get a bit irritated around the armholes but they were tight, the rest was totally fine.

Hi! Maybe you can order some from a try-on-at-home program from a website like Azazie? It may not be the exact same fabric, but it's a starting point!

Mine has an illusion neckline - it's fine until the shoulders and the back of the armholes, especially when I move my arms back. Fortunately, my seamstress is going to be able to make some adjustments to fix it. I have a 34G cup, so I think the weight pulling on the fabric caused my issue. Regardless of the fix needed, I would suggest it to anyone who wants the security of straps but likes the no strap look!

My dress has some mesh on the front neckline and the whole back is illusion. I have very sensitive skin and honestly didn't even notice it while wearing my dress
