I am a b cup with a tiny waist and big round butt. I keep reading that mermaid dresses are a no no however I look phenomenal in form fitting dresses. I always turn heads in them in a good way. It says you don't want to draw attention to your hips and butt. My hips and butt look amazing and are my best features. Why wouldn't I want to draw attention to them? Any pear shaped girls have pics on a mermaid? Who wrote this nonsense that they dont look good on pear shapes????

As a pear - I went with a soft a-Line. The cost of altering the top of a mermaid that fits my bottom was enough to put me off the style. I'm also short waisted and it wasn't for me. If you like the way you look and you're down for the alterations then go for it!

Well alterations for the dress I want the same price either way. My waist is so tiny I'd have to get it altered either way. I am thinking on just wearing a good pushup with a little padding.....should do the trick.

Actually now after reading. I don't think i am a pear shape. I think i am hour glass with a small bust.

If you find a dress that you love and look amazing in, who cares what is a “no no” or not? Wear whatever you want to wear and makes you happy.
