Mermaid & fit and flare dresses!!

I don't know if this is a mermaid or trumpet dress but either way, I loved the simplicity of it and the overall fit. I absolutely love mermaid and trumpet dresses. I have an hour glass figure and wanted to show off my curves. Princess gowns just made me look silly.

Kayla! Where did you go to look for dresses? How was your experience?

My dress is a trumpet. Just back info for any confusion of styles, Trumpets flare out mid thigh, mermaids pretty dramatically flare out at or about knees and the fit and flares usually go out around the hips or just below.

I went to Park Ave bridal, my experience was good we were the only ones there so they really took there time with me. She first showed me all the different styles and I kind of narrowed it down. I am going to i do I do on April 6th!

I'm also wearing a trumpet gown! For the ceremony I am wearing a tulle overskirt, and for the reception I'll be wearing a sparkly belt

This was my fit and flare dress, by Sottero & Midgley.

This is considered a fit and flare for mine, because it flares out just below my hips. It was one I kind of visioned myself in and got! Love these kinds of styles of dresses!

I love how that looks that Is beautiful. I tried on a few dresses with skirts that you could take off and they were nothing like this. I love the tulle!!

Raquel, I couldn't agree with you more. I always knew I wanted a lace dress and we are getting married on the beach so I like how the bottom is tulle. I just never imagined myself in a mermaid/ fit and flare dress. Thank you! What is different about this one and yours that you can see from the picture?

Edit- I looked them both up and the top of yours is beautiful and exactly what I want with more of a scalloped sweetheart!!

Thanks!! It cracks me up though, because when I first went into dress shopping, I was like, "no lace!!" and was positive I'd be wearing a ballgown.

I think the bottom of my dress isnt quite as full as the one in your photo.
