Mermaid Dress

Franchine, on January 7, 2020 at 6:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 12
How easy is it to use the bathroom in this dress? I purchased the dress then thought about this...ugh!

The dress looked great on me though

My dress was a fit and flare, so like a soft mermaid. I was able to hike it up over my waist since it wasn't SO tight in the leg, and my MOH held up the fabric while I went. But if your mermaid dress is tight at the bottom, you may need to take it off...

Thank you. Oh boy. I was so in love with how I looked...I didn't think of the partiality of needing to go

I am not sure my mermaid can lift up. The dress needs to lift up to do this

I'm wearing a fit and flare, I would have the same concerns, but I'm changing into a second dress after the ceremony!

To some extent, you decide how tight you want the dress to fit during alterations. You can leave a little room to comfortably sit (and to walk up/down stairs) and that will help. Or you can go super fitted, just plan on shuffling around and mostly standing. 😂 Does your venue have a private suite or private bathroom for the bride? My venue had a private bridal suite with bathroom on the second floor, so not so much of an issue if you had to take your dress off to use the bathroom. 😁

I agree with Rachel, it may be a good idea to just take the dress off when you go to the bathroom!

Honestly I wouldn’t stress too much about this, I pee sooo frequently (in general I pee like once an hour, it’s insane 😂) but at my wedding I literally didn’t have to go at all...? Idk, adrenaline I guess, and probably not drinking as much as usual (which isn’t a good thing, buuuut at least I didn’t have to pee!)

My dress is a mermaid style dress with a corset back so it’s a hassle to take off and on.... I love it so much so I’m just hoping I don’t have to pee often on my wedding day!

How close are you with your MOH or bridesmaids? You could just have them help you strip out of your dress to go. Girl pack!
