Menu cards??

Rachel, on January 8, 2020 at 11:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hi everyone!!

Just curious as to what the appropriate way to present the menu options to guests in the invitation would be. Is it sufficient to just present generic check boxes for chicken, pork, and vegetarian? Should I include an insert with the details of each option? Or should I direct them to my wedding website and add a page with the menu options? Am I just overthinking it?tenor.gif

Hey Rachel, welcome to WeddingWire! I don't think there's a wrong way to go about this, but if the options are really detailed, I would list the options on the RSVP as "chicken, pork, etc." and also add an insert personally. If you're doing old-fashioned (by mail) RSVP's, I wouldn't rely on all guests to check the website, but it wouldn't hurt to put the information there too Smiley smile

Are you doing plated or buffet style? If you are doing buffet style, the only thing I would include would be something asking if they have any dietary restrictions. We included that on our rely cards. Otherwise, I don't think they need to know every item that will be served. If you are doing plated, then you will need to know exactly what each person wants so I would also include that on the reply card with all of the options. I have included what our rsvp card looked like as well as 3 examples. The three examples I would only do one of those if you are having plated. I went to a wedding where they did buffet style and still asked people what they wanted and I thought that was strange because they had no way of ensuring that's what guests actually ate.

I personally wouldn't list out all of the details in regards to each dish. I think chicken, beef, fish, etc. is sufficient enough. As a guest, I've never been given all of the details regarding what will be in each option.
