Menu Cards for Pre-selected seated dinner

j, on August 3, 2017 at 11:35 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Hi all,

I need advice on the wording for a seated lunch wedding (fish, beef or vegetarian upon request).

Should I add it as option one OR option two OR option three?

And is it necessary to add that sentence that says something about not being able to make any changes now?

thanks for your advice!

    I dont get it.

Just write, beef, fish, vegetarian. You can go into more details if you want.

ON the escort cards just put a little b, f, v. You're overthinking it i think.

The owner of the venue says that the waiters will receive from us a chart that shows who's getting what so that'll be unnecessary.

Are you talking about on the RSVP cards or menu cards at each place setting?

The rsvp had options and guests made their choices and mailed the rsvps back to us. Now I'm wondering if theres evne a purpose to have the menus at all. Id like to, cause I think they look cute. I'm just not sure about the wording. I dotn want to be cut and dry like "YOU CANT MAKE ANY CHANGES" Id figure people can kind of assume that since they had to fill out the rsvps. thanks =)

Nah, skip it. They made their choices and yes they cant really switch at this point. Most people know this.

Me too, OliviaP! I like the look they give. And I love @BoudreauToBe s suggestion. I might go for that.

The seating is: tables assigned but not seating assigned on the tables. We'll have an index card with the waiter responsible for the table.

Do you have some inspo pics?

I just am picturing a piece of paper at every place settings and i fee like that would take away from the fanciness.

If you did assigned seats you can always put on the little menu what people had preselected so they have a refresher of what they had picked.

@OP - you may not think about it now, but EVERY wedding I have catered where it was plated and the meal choices were pre-selected, a minimum of 3 to 5 guests will change their mind. I have a feeling more will do so if you have a menu in front of them. People don't remember what they ordered and the caterer will have prepared enough food for what your guests requested when they RSVPd weeks ago. Also, it helps the catering staff a TON if you put something on the escort card that shows what people ordered. Regardless if they have a list of who ordered what at each table, having it marked on each individual card makes sure that your guests aren't changing their mind at the last minute.
