Men's wedding band issue

Jenn B, on September 17, 2015 at 3:11 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Now that we're married and back to work- DH is having trouble with his new ring. He's a chef, and constantly washes his hands. I think jusssst enough water is getting trapped in there and causing a little rash under his ring. Even when he dries underneath it- it seems to keep happening.

The obvious answer would be: stop wearing ring to work.... but we're newly married and he proudly wants to show that off. He's considering a tattoo but are there any other options- any of your husbands had this issue?

    QALO Silicone Wedding Rings

    www.qalo.com

Our silicone wedding rings are more than a simple rubber ring. They provide a safe, durable alternative to the metal wedding band. Perfect for every job.

    Tada!

My FFIL is a chef and hasn't taken his wedding ring off in 35 years! I'm sure it bothered him to start, but he got used to it (if that makes you feel better at all!) Smiley smile

One of my good friends is a chef and when he's in the kitchen he wears his wedding band on a necklace that he tucks under his coat while cooking. It's not the best solution, but he tells me it works.

We are looking into Qalo rings also. FH can not wear his real ring at work. You can possibly try a different type of ring - if its tungsten try gold?

Just checked out Qalo- thanks for the tip... you don't think moisture gets underneath?

Another vote for Qalo rings. I have one for the gym and for when I went to Brazil recently.

Mine is pretty tight. I don't have to remove it to dry underneath like I need to with my E-Ring

I got DH a Qalo band for working out. He has pretty much been wearing it exclusively though because it's so much more comfortable for him. I recommend them! Cheap too!

Also - he was a 10 or 10.5 (can't remember) per the jeweler for his real band, we sized up to 11 for his Qalo and it's perfect!

ETA - I think you and I have the same wedding band Smiley smile

I am actually getting the same thing from my band/e-ring all of a sudden. I stopped wearing it to help it heal. I may check out the silicone ones.

I tried to talk FH into one of those rings because he works in a metal shop with machines...and he was all like "I want to wear the real one" so...whatever. His finger that's going to get ripped off, not mine.

JCC- that's why DH says. If i'm going to wear a ring... i want it to be this one. Okay, man. You're the one with the itchy finger then.

My husband can't wear his for safety reasons at work, but because he also is proud and likes it, he wears it before he starts and before he leaves.

H and I both have qalo rings that we wear when we work out and he wears when he's installing stuff. I sized way up (6 and my wedding rings are 4.75) but he sized down (9 and his wedding band is 9.5). I've had no issue with moisture!

One of our best men (we had two) works in a factory and with the machinery is unable to wear any metal jewelry. He had a small tattoo placed on his ring finger- and wears the ring when he's not at work.

I don't know but I LOVE your wedding band. I saw that on Etsy and I've been looking for it ever since. Where did you get yours?!

My husband has worn his in the kitchen (he was a chef, now just covers for the new chef every once in awhile) and he said it bothered him at first, but then he got used to it. His ring is also a little too big, so it definitely doesn't cause a rash. Does his ring have a "comfort fit" band? Mine doesn't, and when I first started wearing it, I got a really strange irritation that was almost like a rash.

What about silicone wedding bands? I recently bought ROQ on Amazon. They are really affordable and fraction of the big bands price. They fit comfortably and appear to be really good quality. Search on Amazon for 'ROQ silicone wedding ring' (they come in 4 packs).
