Men's Wearhouse Rental Shoes

EatKnitRun, on November 13, 2015 at 12:40 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Did you rent them? Did the guys like them? I've worn uncomfortable required shoes as a bridesmaid, and I don't want to put our groomsmen in a similar situation. I assumed we would have guys wear their own shoes, or they would want to buy their own if they didn't have any. Last night we picked out tuxes and set up our group at Men's Wearhouse, and FH wanted everyone to rent shoes as well. Thoughts?

Btw I know it's early to do this for our May wedding but I had a $40 off offer that was expiring, and I didn't know if I could get another one. There is no way in hell I will be going to another bridal show and I didn't buy my dress at David's Bridal!

The overwhelming consensus from my guys was that they were uncomfortable, and most of them even went with the wide ones. Some of them just brought more comfortable shoes to change into after the pics and ceremony.

DH got shoes rented with the tux he had to wear for SILs wedding... They were patent leather and didn't even come close to fitting him, though we gave them the right size. Super tight and uncomfortable. He had to get a pair of his regular dress shoes shined for the wedding.

Everyone else wore them though, have no idea how they felt about it.

I actually think the rental shoes are just plain ugly and requested that FH tell all the men to please just wear their own black dress shoes with their tuxes.

Ugh FH tried them on and ordered the wide for himself, and I don't think his feet are really wide. Maybe I can convince him to make them optional. They looked sorta cheap and uncomfortable to me, and rental shoes seem so much grosser than rental clothes.

My FH's best friend was in a wedding and the rental shoes literally fell apart!

Those shoes are terrible. I wouldn't make them wear them, especially if they already own a pair of black dress shoes that they like.

We plan on telling the guys to just wear a pair of shoes they already own, or buy a pair of their choice. The shoes are not very attractive IMO, and don't look like they'd be very comfortable.
