Men's Wearhouse-possible bankruptcy

Kelsey, on June 9, 2020 at 12:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Just a head's up ladies, I read an article last night that Men's Wearhouse could be filing for bankruptcy. If I remember correctly, David's Bridal filed for Chapter 11 as well a few years back. I believe that they closed a some stores. It sounds like the same could happen for Men's Wearhouse. We actually cancelled our rentals with them this last week, I'm happy we did because I could see the store where we live closing. We live in a larger town but compared to the other towns/ cities I'm rather certain we would be on the list that would be closed. Article below in regards to potential closing!

Yeah I’m worried about our order with them. No one answers emails and when they do it’s weeks later. We postponed and I’m wondering if this will happen before summer is over. I’m considering canceling our event and if they still are in business come August then I guess create a new event. 🤦🏽‍♀️

At this time, I am not surprised. DB filed for bankruptcy in 2017 I think, and I don’t know how they are doing internally. One reason I didn’t order my 2nd favorite dress which was from DB, beside the bad reviews towards their on site alterations. Bloomingdales also filed for bankruptcy I heard. I checked on their website and their prices are still relatively high to me 😜

I would do it now. Reason being is, that I cancelled due to lack of communication. And I did tell them my event was completely cancelled (small lie there), but they offered to send us a check for the $40 deposit. I'm not sure how long it will take to get here but I'm happy we are at least getting it. I would worry that wouldn't even happen. And when I said the location I was by, because you can go in the store for the refund they indicated that location would be closed and they aren't sure if that one would re-open. We ended up going to the salon where I got my dress from and had great customer service; also saved about $50 per tux.

I'm not either. Yeah I couldn't remember exactly when that happened but I knew it was in the last 5 years or so. Oh I didn't hear that about Bloomingdale's. I'm so happy we switched places, it's one less thing to have to worry about! Actually the salon I went to for the tuxes told me they have been busier than ever!

It was actually Neiman Marcus, not Bloomingdales, that recently filed for bankruptcy. I haven't checked their website recently and I don't know if they're going to actually close or just "restructure," but if you're looking for possible bankruptcy-related sales, try NM.

OF COURSE. No wonder they aren't responding to any of my emails Smiley smile We had an appt, prior to shutdown, they never even called me to cancel or say anything. I mean, I knew it was cancelled obviously, but a little professional courtesy wouldn't kill them. Every other place, like our baker, called to let us know they'd have to cancel...

Yeah, I had a hard time getting them to respond too. That's what kind of made me change the place we were going through. At the beginning of this shutdown they seemed to respond faster but I'm guessing with the new developments that is why they aren't being as timely.
