Men's Wear? How early to order?

Talk to the place you're considering for the rental? FH and I went and ordered his stuff last week for our September wedding, even though it seems a little early. They just said to come back in about three weeks before the wedding to be re-fitted in case some things need to be changed.

I think most places will say about 3 months before the big day. I'd still stop by or at least call and get their timeline of when to try on, when to order, how long it will take to come in, etc.

It depends if they are buying or renting and from where. We are just doing tux rentals from Men's Wearhouse. We are getting married in 39 days and still have one GM who has to go get fitted. They all pick them up 2 days before the wedding.

Yeah just renting tuxes! Okay well with 39 days out I am not that worried then on timeline.

Yes renting is typically very easy. We just picked out what we wanted then sent everyone the info and they all went on their own time to get fitted. They told us the latest they could be fitted to get the tux on time was June 8th for my June 23rd wedding.

Yeah I just want to get the bridesmaid dresses squared away first. I have swatches of the dress colors in mind already so when the girls pick the dresses the end of this month I will try to set up something with FH to go and pick a tux. 3 months doesn't sound bad I always thought it was even less than that even. We won't get to him trying on tuxes til July anyways.

Okay very good to know! Yeah honestly I always thought the timeline was waaaay smaller for guys cuz it's not like they are making the tuxes from scratch haha. thank you!

We started looking about 5 months in advance but that was still pretty early. My FH took a while to choose which tux place he wanted to use so I was glad we had the extra time to sort that out... but he ended up choosing the place about 3 months before the wedding, and they said not to even bother getting measured or placing the order until 6 weeks before, so that's what we did!

I would have him look into which store he wants to use sooner rather than later... but for your October wedding, I think July after your Italy trip would be more than enough time anyway! And once he chooses a place, you can ask them how long in advance he should order... but my guess is they'll say between 4 and 6 weeks! Men's warehouse actually will take orders up until 2 weeks before the event.

Menswear is waaay easier and quicker than I thought!

We went last week to pick out style and color for everyone, however, they told us they don't want to hear back from any of the guys about measurements until Late September/early October (for a Nov. 9th wedding) so a month or so before the wedding. Just like girls, guys weight can fluctuate too but lucky them, since they get to rent instead of buy, they don't have to worry about their clothes being made and delivering in time

We are renting ours but all the guys needed to be fitted. I had them all fitted in December for a September wedding. That's early but because that was the only time all the wedding party would be in town before July and I wasn't waiting until then. I always like going earlier rather than later so have you thought about going around now or before you leave for Italy?
