Men's Warehouse or Jos A. Banks or Mr. Formal

Soon2Be Mrs.Phan, on May 17, 2013 at 8:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

I would like to know from brides & grooms in the group on where they rented their men's formal wear for their wedding at and why you went there.

My wedding is 41 days away and the hubby and I are trying to figuring out where would be the best place to go.

I don't have experience with the other two places, but we went to men's wearhouse when they were having their buy one get one sale and bought pants and a vest. The guy we had was awesome. My fiancé used a different location for a wedding he was in and the experience was fine.

We went to men's Warehouse first just because they are well known and we had gotten a discount from bridal show..Fh didn't like the fact that they didn't have the whole tux for him to try on..Just like us girls, he wanted to try on different styles of tux's and shirt colors to see which one he liked better..We ended up going to Mr. Formal and they were awesome..He got to try on different tux's and colors of shirts. We ended up renting at Mr Formal and it came out cheaper than Men's Warehouse..We will see how it goes when they pick up the tux's next week.

We are using Mens Wearhouse. I was suprised at how easy they are to use. Me and FH went in, picked the tuxes we wanted, and the matching vests and ties (which coordinate exactly with Davids Bridal) for the groomsmen, dads and for FH. He got measured, took 2 minutes, we paid $20 and we pick the tux up 2 days before the wedding.

The best thing is this tho, the men can go to any mens wearhouse, anywhere to get measured and to pick up their tux and the next day the tuxes can be returned to any mens wearhouse as well..

I found it to be extremely convenient and easy to work with. Not to mention, reasonably priced, ($140 for each rental). Plus they have a deal that if you rent 5, the 6th is free.

We are using Mens Warehouse and arn't very impressed. The initial meeting was fine so we decided to go with them but later found out that the lady who imputed our information screwed up royally. 1. wrong wedding date 2. cannot search and find the wedding party- only the groom comes up 3. our account number "doesn't exist"

We used Jos A. Bank. They were SO easy to work with and gave us a great deal. The colors were perfect. They ordered samples for Mr. S to try on before we ordered.

We're using Men's Wearhouse, they've been super easy to work with and Matt's made so many changes to the tux's and they're very relaxed about it.

The only down side is they don't have the tux's available to try on. But they do have vest/tie swatches and the jackets & pants to look at so it wasn't too bad. Our order got here super early (Wednesday) and everyone looks great so far, especially the fathers tux's!!

We went to Mr. Formal first. They are so pushy! We wanted to BUY SUITS, and they showed us TUXES to RENT. Then, when we went through the process, he was like, "okay, the deposit is $$". Woah there buddy, we need to talk to our guys, and now go somewhere else. ugh, I hated it there, and so did FH.

We ended up at MW, where they gave us the bridal show coupon for 50% off buying suits and accessories. They guys ended up buying for less than it was to rent something we didn't like at Mr. Formal. Smiley smile

We looked at men's warehouse but FH didn't see anything he liked. There was a tux that he really liked at Jos A Bank but every time we went into a store to talk to someone we were pretty much ignored and they never returned any of our calls. We ended up going with Tuxedo Junction. They have a tux that FH likes and my one out of state brother can get his measurements done anywhere and enter them on the website.

To those that went somewhere local what is the local tux shop called?

Also to everyone thank you for the replies and everything. I have been talking to the hubby about everything and all our options and it is just hard. Trying to figure out if we are going to buy or rent and what we want to buy or rent.

I thought dress shopping was hard picking out what your man is gonna wear and from where is even harder.

We are using Jos A. Banks to rent our groomsmen suits. Kevin bought his there, so we just went with them to rent the grooms suits. And, we looked around a President Tuxedo and Mens Warehouse...but Jos A. Banks was more of what I was looking for

We used Men's Wearhouse and my husband STILL talks about how awful they were. they were rude to him when he first went in there. the lady tried to upsell him in a sneaky way when he just wanted the basic tux they advertised. they screwed up his vest and we almost didn't have the right one in time.

one of our GMs forgot his tux shirt before he left to fly home to Colorodo. i figured it would be no issue for me to just drop it off with my husband's tux so our GM wouldn't get charged for it. they were so unpleasant about it. first the guy just couldn't seem to understand the simple explanation of where the extra shirt came from. then he couldn't tell me for sure if our GM had already been charged for the missing shirt. then he couldn't tell me if he would be charged even though we dropped the shirt off for him. you'd think i was asking something crazy. apparently picking up a phone and calling the other store was too much to ask the guy.

    do not recommend them.

We tried Men's Wearhouse but there was such a mix up with the appointment and the women at the counter was not very helpful. Then they only allowed FH to try on Jacket so we were less than impressed. We left and I made an appointment with Savvi Formal Wear. They were great and easy to work with. Plus we got what we really wanted.
