Memorial Dance for a Loved One?

Tori, on June 8, 2015 at 1:32 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 1

FH lost his mother 20 years ago. His only real memory he speaks about is her favourite song was "Love is all around us". He asked I incorporate it into the wedding somehow. Do you think in place of a mother/son dance we have a dance for all of her relatives and her widower? It would be us, FSIL x3, FFIL, and FH's uncle and all of their partners. Do you think that is too emotional for everyone so early in the night? Can you think of another way to honour her and incorporate the song? I really want it to be special for everyone.

My Mums fave song was Save all your kisses for me by Brotherhood of Man. We had it played at her funeral too, so will play it at the reception, the people who need to know will know why we are playing it and dance if they want to, the people who don't know, probably my FH a family, will just think it's a cheesy song. I think if I made it a memorial dance I would end up in floods of tears on an already emotional day xxx
