memorial candles

Abbiell, on February 12, 2014 at 11:57 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Awhile back, I tried to post the photos of the memorial candles we did to remember all of our grandparents at our wedding. My computer wouldn't upload the photos before but I think I've finally got it figured out. I made the clings on VP and just put them on plain vases from hobby lobby.

I love memorial candles. It's a very subtle way to show appreciation for lost loved ones; it's not overpowering, but it's really meaningful. We're going to be doing this, but with a yahrzeit candle (Jewish memorial candle), although I feel like an asshole because we can't let it burn for 24 hours.

I really love this idea. I lost my Dad in 2007 & think this would be a beautiful way to honor him.

Thanks ladies Smiley smile they were cheap and easy to make. We displayed them with our grandparents wedding photos on the mantle at the venue and got lots of nice compliments on them.

Oh and you can't really see it, but in the back is an 11x14" frame and the poster inside says "we know you would be here today if heaven wasn't so far away."

Very sweet! I'd need a ton of candles so we are just skipping doing that.

@FMM, I ordered the smallest window clings off of VP. I just typed in the info and then used their clip art for the cross. I got the clear vases from hobby lobby and the candles were from hobby lobby too.

JG--we had a ton! My husband has lost all of his grandparents since we've been together and I only have a grandma left. We wound up with 4 of them.
