Melissa Sweet Linear Lace Bustle

Tess, on September 10, 2018 at 4:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
Hi all!
I went in for my first alterations appointment for my Melissa Sweet linear lace gown, and the seamstress and I were talking about the best type of bustle for this dress. I will lose some of the “linear” effect no matter what, but I’m curious about how other ladies have done it. Under bustle? Single button over bustle? Three button? Send pictures if you have them!
Thanks!

Hi Theresa! Is the dress by Melissa Sweet called "linear lace gown"? Or which style is it? I am trying to find an image online for a better idea of what you mean. Smiley smile I found this article about different styles/types of bustling wedding gowns as maybe one of these different bustle techniques can help keep the shape of your "linear" effect.

The top lace layer on my train extends beyond the rest of the train so my seamstress is doing an under bustle for all but the top layer. The lace top layer will be a 3 point over bustle. The seamstress went through and pinned all the bustle options to help me choose, maybe see if yours can pin all the options to help you pick what looks best.

I looked at your link and I think the under bustle would look best and help you keep more of the linear look. But either way it’s a beautiful dress
