Meat on the bone.

jill_e, on July 28, 2016 at 9:44 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

So we had our tasting a little while ago and the tastiest chicken entree by far was a cornish hen. It was a full cornish hen with all the bones. I don't think I have been served anything bone-in at a wedding. Would you be put off by this? It's a formal sit down evening reception.

I don't think I would be put off by it. Have you asked the caterer if it's a popular dish? That's what I did when I was nervous about choices!

No issue for me. People should know how to eat around bones and that is also what helps keep the flavour in too.

    Go for it!

I think it'd be delicious! However, eating food off a bone is a little messy, and people may not want to. (I had to be talked out of ribs for this reason...)

Some people will complain, others will think it was awesome. You'll get that no matter what you choose. I for one, think it would be delicious because I love cornish hen.

I love Cornish game hen. If you have another option, I don't really get what the big deal is.

Yum. If anybody complains, you can send their hen to me. I'll eat it.

This wouldn't bother me at all. I have had a bone-in pork chop at a wedding before and it was terrific.

Thanks guys, that was the reassurance that I needed. We did ask the caterer if other people have done it and it's new option for them so not many people had yet.

Someone is always going to get snippy about any decision you make lol. If you liked it and it was the one you enjoyed most, then go for it.

Umm... yum! I would love that. I'm with @BookcaseHat! if they don't want it you can send theirs to me!

Someone will always have something to say about this or that. If it's what you want to serve then serve it! Smiley smile
