Measurements vs. standard sizes

Azazie is having a 10% off sale on bridal gowns right now (yay!), so I figured it’s time to order the gown. Take my measurements, look at the size chart, and it says my measurements match up to a 14, but I fit into a sample size 10 in January and have been working out soo much more since. I’ve dropped a size in my normal clothing and am close to fitting in the next size down, so what is the deal? I know the samples have been stretched from multiple try ons - but not two sizes worth. I called customer service and they said the standard sizes don’t match the actual measurements cause they leave room for give. What?!?! Can anyone wrap my head around this? Should I go with the custom size or the standard size 8?

With custom there are no returns I'm guessing. Every designer sizing is different maybe they measure the sizes different. I would go with the custom size and maybe add a couple of extra inches just in case

I can't speak to wedding gowns, but four of daughter's five BMs did custom sizing for their Azazie dresses, and except for some minor things, none of them had an issue. (I think one needed to have her straps shortened and a couple of them the dresses were a little longer than they were expecting. Azazie does provide a credit for necessary alterations on custom-sized dresses, so I'm pretty sure everything they had done was covered by their credits.) Personally, I'd probably go with custom-sizing, and NOT add anything extra to the measurements. Good luck!

I ordered a custom sized bridesmaid dress from them for my sister’s wedding, and it fit perfectly. I would just go with the custom, that way you know for sure what the size you’re getting is.

Azazie dresses run big. I just ordered my smaller size and it fit pretty well. They can also send you a sample dress in any size to test out if you’re willing to wait for the next sale to buy.

I would do custom sizing.. I know I have never ordered from Azazie but I had bridesmaids looking at it. In regular clothes I wear a 5/7 in pants and medium and shirts and in dresses I wear a 6 or 8 but i bought my wedding dress as a 12 and the only alterations I really need is to take it in a tiny bit and adjust the bust (12's must have much larger boobs than I do) lol
