Meal Markers on Place Cards

I just wanted to share an idea I had and went with and it is turning out great. I am having a choice of entrees so I have to "mark" my seating cards. At first I thought of using stickers but cows and fish seemed too cutsie (and a bit odd too). Then I thought about just using different colored dots but I didn't like how they looked on my cards - I thought they detracted from the whole theme. So, I am punching a hole it the top right (with a heart shaped hole puncher) and attaching curled ribbon. It looks so festive - I really love it.

    I'm thinking of doing different "stamps" for each meal type. It won't be chicken or veggies, but I'll let the staff know what each picture correlates to with the meal choice and probably use different colors to make it each too.

    My fiance's grandmother did the same thing for his cousin's wedding a few years ago and the staff at the hotel where she had the reception said it was the easiest they had ever had it at delivering the appropriate plate to the right guest!

    I finished my cards today and I'm really pleased with the results. I had the cards printed with a custom image I bought on the internet. Then I printed my own labels with the names and table assignment using the clear labels and matching ink - they really turned out great and were very easy to work with. The colored ribbons give the cards such a fun party look - they are a great finishing touch and I can see why it will make it easy on the wait staff because they really stand out.
