Our wedding caterer asked if we are giving our babysitter a meal. The babysitter is coming at 7 p.m., and the meal would be full-price ( $80). This to me seems a little too generous-- we were planning on providing snacks but don't want to be cheap if that is what is expected. If it matters, we...

If it matters, we expect at least one of the two babies (4 months and 13 months) to be asleep.

Thanks all! I caved to feeling like I have to give her a meal-- also because it will be easier than order since the venue is out of town. Last minute details that add up are the worst!!!

She should get a meal, but maybe just a nice deli meal with a salad/sandwich, some sides and a quart of Jack Daniels (just kidding); something cold that she can enjoy during her time there. I think it's a nice gesture, but 80 bucks is a lot.

I think an 80 dollar meal is alot on top of whatever you are going to pay her, maybe just tell her that you will be providing snacks but give her a twenty for her "meal expenses" before getting to the wedding....i think the 80 includes all the fancy service and would NOT be worth it for her to take with her or waste if she does eat before hand. jmo
