Meal cards for buffet

N, on January 19, 2020 at 9:43 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
We’re having a buffet but are planning plates dinners for kids and those with good allergies. Our venue will need some way to identify where those people are sitting—so meal cards of some sort or something brightly colored they put at their seat. Since we won’t need meal cards for everyone, trying to figure out a way to incorporate that into our seating chart. Anyone had to do this or ideas?

You could always have a neutral color for “this person has no restrictions” so it doesn’t look strange with some people having cards and some not?

I’m not sure what a meal card is. Like an escort card? You could just do normal escort cards for everyone and make the plated meals in a different color or with a colored sticker.

Ha see I don’t know what escort cards are. But maybe were talking about the same thing. To me the escort cards I thought were who sits/ escorts MOB, MOG,etc. during the ceremony. I’m talking about meal designations akin to during a plated meal to say who gets the fish, beef, chicken, etc.

Escort cards are typically displayed with peoples names, table numbers, and meal selections. Guests pick them up, find their tables, and set the card at their place setting so that waitstaff know what entree to bring them.Meal cards for buffet 1

I am just sending my caterer a list of who needs what and where they are sitting in advance. I’m doing a buffet but these people on the list will get their restricted options.

Escort cards (despite the name) have nothing to do with who is walking/sitting with whom. They're cards indicating at which table people will be sitting. Instead of doing a large seating chart, you'll have a card for each individual, which they will grab and then use to find their table.

Just use escort cards and label the cards of anyone with a dietary restriction. You can use stamps (there are some cute options on Etsy), stickers, or color code them.
