Maybe strange...

Brittany, on April 12, 2016 at 1:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

So I don't have the greatest looking toenails...they're not ugly and I take great care of them. BUT my nails don't grow incredibly fast either. Would it be odd to get acrylic nails for my toes? I know they sell them at stores but I would be worried the whole day about one of them falling off or not getting them put on the right way. I have never seen or heard of this being done in a salon which is why I'm asking. I don't want my usual nail tech to think I've gone nuts.

I know it's a long ways out and I've got time to grow them...but after years I know my toe nails. I will be wearing shoes that probably have my toes showing so I want them to look good.

I hope this isn't a strange thing to be wondering about...any ideas or good stick on nails that they have tried?

If you do acrylic, have a professional do them. Honestly you couldn't see my toes because my dress was so long. I lost my big toe nail in a kickball game and it didn't grow out in time for my wedding so I went to salon and had them put one for me and it looked perfect. They do it. I would trust them to do it though instead of doing it yourself.

I've seen people do acrylic on toes. I would try gel polish, though. A friend of mine didn't realize they put acrylic on her toes and said it hurt so bad.

I've heard of people getting acrylic on their toes. Especially when going away on vacation so it lasts.

I would do a gel pedicure, they look similar to acrylic because of the thick polish plus you don't really need long toe nails, that's kind of odd. I've never heard of acrylic toes.

I didn't know this was an option. If you don't think they are ugly I just can't imagine why you would need fakes. Like who is looking at your toes that closely? No one. No one is staring at your toes. If you have a fungal problem or a deformity, sure, people will notice. They will also notice if you have a pretty color of nail polish. Beyond that, no one cares. Unless everyone at your wedding has a foot fetish. No one is going to judge you and think, "Meh, her toes are just a 5."

It's fine as long as they don't make them long. But I doubt you need them as long as you take care of your feet and they're polished. The only time toes look gross to me are when they're not properly taken care of e.g. untrimmed.

True story. I was at the nail salon getting a pedicure about a year ago and I sat next to a woman who was getting her toe acrylics replaced. She clearly was a regular and had an attendant that definitely knew what the woman wanted. Through some nonchalant chatting, it became clear that her boyfriend was very picky about her toenails and always got excited to see what her next color will be, etc. I came away pretty sure that he had a bit of a foot fetish and it was kind of cute that she did that for him.

I met someone who got square acrylics on her toes in french tip, and damn they were so cute. I don't normally notice toes but hers were so cute, I really was tempted to get them myself. I never have because it's like fingernails..if you're going to do it you really have to keep up with it. For just your wedding I'm sure it would be fine, but go to a good place who normally does them.

Given my business name, people always look at my feet to see if I'm barefoot (even in places where I would not be expected to be barefoot)! So, I make sure to always have polish on my toenails.

When I first got my domain name, I got an e-mail from a guy with a foot fetish -- DELETE!

Fellow gross-footer here. None looks closely enough at your toenails for acrylics, except for maybeee your FH (mine only notices when they're unpolished and I have bruised nails). I plan on just doing gel!

I'm an ex-ballerina, so I have some damaged toenails and slightly misshapen toes. I found years ago that simply wearing regular nail polish really distracted from the fact that my toes formed to the shape necessary for them to squeeze into a pointe shoe for hours at a time on a daily basis. And you would never know the toenails are damaged.

One of my big toenails broke about a year ago and I had the nail technician put on gel extensions so both were a little longer and I have to admit I did love the way they looked- they seemed to hold polish better as well, definitely considering this again for my wedding

In the summer, I always have gels on my toes if I have beach weddings on the schedule. It lasts forever.

I had shellac for my wedding, which worked well.

I have acrylic powder stuff on top of my real nails on my hands, and removing it can hurt if the technician isn't careful. I can't imagine removing acrylic from my toenails. I'd be afraid I'd lose a toenail.

I've had acrylic on my toe! The lady doing my pedicure accidentally ripped a huge chunk of my nail off and had to "build" a new nail with acrylic! You couldn't tell and it stayed for a long time. It didn't hurt at all. I usually get gel polish, so she just added it on top of the acrylic to match my other toes.

I had never heard of it but I got it done for a wedding last year. I was at the salon getting my nails done for an upcoming wedding where I was a bridesmaid. I lost a toenail months prior and it was only half grown out. The lady was just like yea I'm going to fix this for you. She did it and there was no problem. It came off after a week or so. It looked fine. I doubt anyone would have noticed but if it's something that would make you feel better then I say do it
