We are! We went from a full ceremony and reception with cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing and 80 guests down to a 10 person minimony that will just be vows, a first dance, cake cutting, and a champagne toast. It will just be our parents, officiants, a few members of the wedding party, and our dog in attendance, and our photographer is going to come out and shoot it for us. Our venue is being amazing and letting us use the outdoor reception site at no charge, and will provide us with some chairs and a table, since we rescheduled our full event to next year, so we still get to be married in the same place. My mom is going to make my bouquet and we may try to decorate the arbor - I got a few supplies that I could still get shipped in time, and if it works it works, if it doesn't it doesn't. Some people are wearing their intended wedding outfits - me, my FH, my mom, the groomsmen, our dog - but my MOH's dress never came in and she doesn't have anything that will go with our colors (dusty pink and navy, but any "dusty" color like mauve, slate blue, sage green, etc would work) so she's just wearing a dress she has (black with purple paisley pattern) and my FH's parents never went shopping before things shut down and said they weren't going to dress up because they didn't have any fancy clothes to wear. Also we know some people will remain socially distanced so I'm not even sure we will do any photos with our guests. It is what it is!

We are still planning on doing a full ceremony and reception with our original guest list (more or less) in June 2021, assuming things are much better then. At the very least we'll be married this year on our original date, and if we have to push the party back even farther than a year it won't matter as much to us. We flip-flopped back-and-forth a lot about whether to do something small this year or just wait and do the full thing when the pandemic dies down, but we learned of a health issue in the family so decided to go ahead and do a small minimony after all. I'm so excited about it. For us, given all the circumstances, it is definitely the right choice.

We got married Saturday! Went from inviting almost 200 to about 45 in attendance. We had an absolute breathtaking venue which we couldn’t use and thankfully 10 plans later a friend and her family let us use their field! It wasn’t exactly what we pictured especially one of the best men being in the military and not being able to travel to be in it (we improvised and had him there via facetime!) we made it work and we had a GREAT day. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches! May 30, 2020 1

The 5/30 was supposed to be our big day, but since our wedding is in NY we postponed to 8/22. We’re ok with downsizing if we have to and are still very excited!!! Have so much fun and congratulations! Smiley heart
