My wedding date is set for May 2025! Where are you all getting married ??

Here is a breakdown of where I’m at & what I need to do.

Vendors: I’ve got my venue, photographer, caterer, and DJ booked.

Attire: I have my wedding dress still need to find my reception dress. Don’t have shoes, I still need to purchase any other accessories. I also need to purchase my FH’s wedding band! He needs to find a suit & a tie along with dress shoes. But most importantly he has to needs to purchase the ring too.) My parents are in charge of there own attire (even though I have a say so in it)

Decorations: Need to purchase florals, drapery along with figuring out my centerpieces so that way I can get them ordered.

Signage: ??

Invitations: I haven’t done much with these yet still deciding where I want to get them from. I will be printing the addresses straight onto the envelopes & RSVP’s are done online.

Dessert Bar: We are not going all out so we’ve decided to just do a wedding cake. Here are two options that we are stuck deciding on (Option # 1 Blackberry Lavender Naked Cake With White Chocolate Buttercream (Option # 2 Rosemary Lavender Cake With A Lavender Buttercream) We need help deciding.

Appetizers: We will either have it brought in by the catering company or else we’ll purchase some appetizers to serve.

Alcohol: Always have to please the guest, what is everyone’s opinion on getting a bartender/ or open bar for a wedding ?

Things we still need to figure out: What kind of guestbook we want, a card box, everything floral related, down to what the tables are going to look like much more I’m sure.

Please let me know if you think I’ve forgotten something or am behind schedule or anything!!

Your wedding is 6 years away. If you do nothing else for the next 5 years, you will still be ahead of schedule.

This. My wedding is in 3 months, you basically are where we are at with planning. I would recommend waiting before you plan more or purchase more attire, rings, etc. sizes and styles can change. Your vendors may not even be in business anymore 6 years from now.

Okay, I am confused, you DID mean two-thousand Twenty-five right? You are way way perfect.

I am 15 Months out and panicky because I am booked for a Venue, includes ceremony, cocktail & reception space, tables, chairs, linens, settings, food, bar, cake. And we got the Engagement Announcements and Save the Dates Done- not out but done. Working on making Bridesmaid/Groomsmen Proposal Boxes, and decor.....

My advice is if that is the dress you want, I hope you got it a size bigger than you are now. Easier to remove material than add it( I speak from experience as someone who bought a dress well before he actually proposed and now cannot fit into it...).....

Glad that you have so much done and are super happy!

I'm getting married this September and I'm pretty sure you have more done than I do. I would honestly hold off on doing ANYTHING else. I imagine your life will be very different than it is now bu the time your date rolls around.

If this is real and not a typo, stop planning. Consider if you can return the dress - your taste may change over the next 6 years. Don’t buy more wedding clothes for your or your FH. Don’t buy centerpieces you’re going to have to store for 6 years. Put whatever contracts you’ve signed and records of the deposits you’ve paid somewhere safe (would be easy for vendors to lose track of this over a long period of time), start saving money, and give it at least 3 years before you think about this again.

LOL! This is awesome.... I agree; take a breather! I get being excited about being engaged, but a six-year engagement is a REALLY LONG time. I'm shocked your vendors are willing to write contracts for six years from now. Good luck!

Right?! A person can get pregnant at this moment and actually have a 5 year old walk down the aisle as a bridal party member.

Yeah, wow. You are definitely not behind schedule if you’re wedding is in 2025. If anything, I’d say you’ve done too much planning.

Ummm? 2025? Why would you even be planning anything. I dont think its smart that you booked your venue, dj, and caterer this many years in advance. Some of those companies may not even be in business then. Why buy centerpieces, dress and other things this far in advance? Things and taste change.
Also i have to laugh when you ask are you behind on planning....im getting married in 16 months and dont even have my decor or dress
