May 2021 Brides

Going thru with it or postponing? We’ve moved ours twice already and we’re hoping this is the very last time. Any thoughts?

I'm carrying on. No more postponing. I shouldn't have to plan my life around a wedding.

4/3/21 AZ bride here & we’re not postponing. We might have to adjust our guest list but we’re getting married on our date which we’re really attached to.

Our date is 5/22/21 and we are moving forward no matter what. I am praying things start to get better as the vaccine is rolled out. We don’t want to halt our lives and decided no matter what we are getting married. Our venue is an indoor ballroom however we have a plan with the venue to rent a large tent and have our ceremony and reception outside on their property. Obviously not what we originally envisioned but worth it if we can safely have more people. We have also ordered our “normal” invitations for everyone as well as invitations for if we need to go virtual. It’s so hard planning right now but all of us Spring 2021 brides have to keep our heads up and remember the goal, marry your best friend.

Postponed from July 2020 to May 22, 2021. The venue let us choose a new date within a year of the postponed date. Unfortunately all the July and June 2021 dates were taken (I was wanting to push it out as far as possible just having this sinking feeling that we were no where near done with COVID). Anyway, I decided to stop worrying about it until January rolled around and now I am here! We are planning on moving ahead with whatever is safe in May, but I still feel nervous. I have been vaccinated as a healthcare worker, but I am not sure how much the vaccine will have rolled out by May that people would feel better about coming. We are taking a look at the guest list and likely going to cut back. The original wedding guest list was around 100, but our venue is indoor and there is a less than ideal outdoor space that we might try to use to give us some room, but generally feeling like 100 may be too many. We are also in our 40's and started building a house when we postponed the wedding, so we aren't really interested in postponing a third time. Good luck to you!

May 21, 2021. Going forward as planned! Hoping to have at least 100 because it's outside but we will see. Either way, we are getting married.

Postponed from June 2020 to May 2021. We’re now having to postpone a second time, to June 2022, as ours is a destination wedding.

May 28 in NYC. Going though with it and praying for the best. We're working with a 50 person guest list vs 120 originally.

We are moving forward with our 4/25/21 wedding. We got engaged late Feb 2020 and went right into lockdown so didn’t really get to celebrate with friends or family. We are over it- ha. We reduced in person to <50 and are live streaming the ceremony for everyone else. We’re having everything outdoors and will take all of the safety precautions necessary. (I also think a lot of older guests/parents will be vaccinated by then) We just want to be married and move on to the next phase of our lives together. Big perk of reducing headcount is the cost savings and we are able to elevate the experience for those in person.

    Good luck with planning!

We are scheduled for May 15, 2021. We had postponed from May 2020 and are going ahead any way possible. Even if it is just 10 people. Just finished a conversation about how many people we think we may be able to invite. We were inviting about 150 and originally anticipated 120. We know it now needs to be below 100, but not sure if that should be 50, 75, 80 or 100. I'm in Virginia and the restriction is 10 right now. Not sure how much more it will be in the next few months.

Our original date was oct. 2020 and we postponed until May, 16, 2021. My Fh does not want to put our life on hold any longer but I am seriously considering postponing again until either May or Oct. 2022 because not everyone will have been vaccinated come Spring 2021 (or be in this same predicament come Fall 2021) and we do not want to cut down our guest list (low headcount of 90 of our closest friends and family already) and I have family and friends that would need to fly in from CA, WA and TX and I don’t want to risk it. Another main factor for me is that if we are paying thousands of dollars for photography, I do not want to see ppl in masks. I want to look at my wedding photos years later and see everyone’s beautiful faces. Good luck!

My only other question/concern is food… We were supposed to be having a buffet and oyster bar. What are some thoughts?

May 21, 2021 and we're going thru with it. Will likely have to cut our 135 person guestlist to 50 but we will be married Mau 21, 2021. Our venue is a sit down dinner. They will be modifying the cocktail hour spread so people won't have to touch the tongs and serving utensils. Does your venue have a team that can serve everyone?
