May 2020 Brides

Analie, on March 4, 2020 at 12:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 32

Hello May 2020 brides we have about 2 months left. How are you all feeling so far?

I am getting a little anxious because I do not have a wedding planner or DOC (it wasn't in the budget).

When do we start to send out invitations?

8 weeks is the best time to send your invitations I think!

We sent out our invitations last month just because we are having a destination wedding. Though it was still probably too early, it's worked out for us. We've received 64/93 back so we're doing pretty good there. We also aren't having a DOC but my aunt will be our go to person in case anyone has questions/needs directions with something.

Hi fellow May bride! I'm feeling excited and DEFINITELY anxious! 2 months feels like a long time to wait to be married, but it also doesn't feel like enough time to have the wedding figured out! lol. I am sending my invitations out on March 28th, 8 weeks exactly before my wedding. The RSVP date will be May 1.

Date twin!!!!! Omg!!!!! We sent ours at the end of January because we knew we could potentially have a lot of out-of-state guests needing to get flights and accommodations. It's a hometown wedding for us since we've always lived here, but we invited a lot of family who live elsewhere now.

I'm mostly anxious because my dress is still being altered and I need my accessories, like jewelry and veil.

My dress is still being altered right now too and I have until March 31 just to see the first set of alterations. I am not feeling anxious about that because I am fully trusting my seamstress. I would look on amazon for your accessories, I found all of mine on there!

I am getting a little nervous about the coronavirus though!

Woah, that's a long time! We got engaged at about 272 days out (shorter engagement) but sometimes it feels like I've been waiting that long haha. How long have you been engaged?

HAHAH we were engaged at 218. We knew we wanted a shorter engagement and we are both into our religion so you know...no sleeping in the same room and other "activities" just yet! He tells me all the time he could not have done a longer engagement and neither could I. I wanted a spring wedding so it wouldn't be too cold or too hot.

I'm anxious about the alterations that are being done to it, and if they can even be done. It's my mother's dress from 1982 and her aunt is taking the sleeves off of it and possibly reworking the top from illusion to spaghetti straps, because the decolletage/shoulder area is so baggy on me.

And accessories is hard because it's 1) kind of ivory and 2) almost 40 years old and it wasn't preserved so it's color has changed a bit with age. Still a very beautiful dress, but up close in person you can see the slight yellowing of the fabric.
