Does anyone have any recommendations on resorts for the best price and quality in Maui?

My FH and I will be honeymooning in Hawaii over New Years (Dec 30 - Jan 10). We will be staying on Oahu but I did do a lot of research on resorts on Maui as well (since we were considering island hopping)!

The best option we found (depending on your budget and time frame), is to maybe do an Airbnb for one week, then a resort the next week. That way we were able to save some money as well as get the secluded and honeymoon feel.

Here are a couple articles/websites I used to book my honeymoon, hope they can help!

We went to Maui & Oahu for our honeymoon in July! In Maui we stayed in Kaanapali at the Royal Lahaina Resort. I thought it was a great deal, it was $365 a night for a partial ocean view room, buffet breakfast & a rental car. Plus you could upgrade to a jeep rental car. It was great! We stayed there for 3 nights. It wasn't the fanciest hotel, but we hardly spent anytime in the room. We were walking distance to Whaler's Village, a short uber to Lahaina, and there were a lot of great beaches in walking distance (we saw a turtle when we went snorkeling at one of them).

Agree about Royal Lahaina. We went there for our 25th anniversary a few years ago. It's not high end, but it's also priced accordingly and we really enjoyed it. We were out doing stuff everyday, so we weren't looking to sit around a resort and be waited on. The grounds are beautiful. We had an oceanfront room in the tower, and ending the night with a glass of wine or starting the day with coffee on our balcony was PERFECT. Agree about the walk to Whaler's Village. We did the Luau on property, and found an awesome little restaurant for breakfast every day a very short walk up the beach to the right of the hotel (the hotel has breakfast, but the little place on the beach was better and less expensive). From the the Royal Lahaina we explored the entire island and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend a helicopter ride (we took off from Paia, I believe), sunrise at Haleakala, snorkeling, the road to Hana (a very long day). The whole trip was awesome.

If you’re open to it, Airbnb, VRBO and Homeaway have some great options. Cheaper than the hotels with more space and a kitchen Smiley smile
