Maui Honeymoon Deals?

Shalott, on May 19, 2016 at 8:03 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15

FH and I are being delightfully clichè and want to visit Maui for our honeymoon. We were hoping to find something all inclusive but it seems like there are only a handful of resorts that are all inclusive and they're each 900 per night. Does anyone have any resources or recommendations on where we should stay? We're looking for something in the $300-$500 per night range and would prefer at least breakfast to be included.

Check Costco travel or AAA. We are staying a week in Maui for less than $2500 and there were even cheaper packages. It's not all inclusive but most of the deals did include breakfast.

ETA: this is for the hotel, airfare, and rental car so if you were looking for just hotel, that would be even less than what I have above.

You won't find true all-inclusive resorts like you find in the Caribbean. The great thing about Maui though is that there are a lot of food truck festivals, farmers markets, and local places to eat. You will want to get a rental car, as it will make it much easier to get around.

There are a lot of travel agents that specialize in Hawaii. I would check with someone local for recommendations.

    Have a great trip!

Bliss Honeymoons is right, Hawaii does not do all-inclusive. Your best bet is to find a packaged deal. We did Maui for our honeymoon through Costco travel and it was fantastic. We stayed at the Westin (with daily buffet breakfast), had a rental car and airfare, all through costco. We also bought luau tickets (Old Lahaina Luau, which I highly recommend) and a snorkel cruise (best part of the trip for us).

I would also like to add that things become cliche because they're popular, and they're usually popular because they're fantastic. This is particularly true of honeymooning on Maui.

No advice here on all inclusive . But there's tons of less expensive places to stay on Trip Advisor. I did a ton of research on Maui when we discussed getting married there. Get a rental house, go buy groceries, get a Jeep and have a blast!

No advice on all inclusive, but when we went to Maui we stayed at the Fairmont. It was amazing. Adults only pool and all the rooms are suites. You also have a private beach.

There are no all-inclusive resorts on Maui.

There also no "private beaches." In fact, restricting beach access is illegal.

    Makena is closing next month.

I always recommend VRBO. You'll get a whole condo for less than the cost of a hotel room, often on just as good of locations.

A rental car is a must.

Old Lahaina Luau has nothing on the Feast at Lele, but the best show available is Ulalena. It's a theater show, not a luau, so dinner isn't included, but the show is absolutely amazing.

While I was there I was told only the Fairmont, the Grand Wailea an Four Seasons had access to that beach/area.

Here is a website with some packages, but I can tell you that putting your own package together is a lot cheaper and way more flexible!

We went to Maui in October for our honeymoon for 7 days and 6 nights and we paid about $1800 for flights and room. We got our plane tickets for $875 (two round trip tickets from Portland, OR) and we booked a beach front condo on VRBO. The condo we booked was privately owned and was absolutely AMAZING! It had a lanai that overlooked the ocean then downstairs, there was a pool/hot tub with beach access at all hours. ETA: the condo was only $900 for 6 nights.

We ate at a lot of small restaurants and local eateries. I also shopped at the swap meet for souvenirs (such an amazing experience)! We did several activities, including a snorkeling tour, golf, massages, parasailing, etc and we only spent about $1000 in spending money for the whole week (that also included three really fancy meals). Rental car is mandatory but we only paid about $120 for the whole week.

I cannot wait to go back!

@promike can you share the condo you booked so I could look at it? We are planning our 1 year anniversary trip to Maui and your post really caught my eye!

This is where we stayed. Right across the st from Kamaole Beaches. We snorkeled most of the time right at that beach and even swam with multiple sea turtles right off the beach. It's in a super central location. I absolutely loved it. It wasn't the fanciest resort but it was super affordable, and had a great view for morning coffee! So jealous of your honeymoon, that's where I got engaged Smiley smile

There's a few cafes and a really good Mexican resturant right up the st. The cinnamon roll place is AMAZING. All in walking distance. Also a really cool swap meet that I highly reccomend. Definitely rent a car, however. There's so much to explore on Maui! This condo is in Kihei.

Also, one of my favorite beaches was Makena Beach. We went at sunset and it wa a gorgeous. I think it's a "local" beach, because the following day we went back and didn't really feel too welcome. Don't let that stop you, though. Have fun!! You'll never want to return to the mainland
