That's a tough one. But for me, I would choose Italy. I've always wanted to go there, for as long as I can remember. I've never been to Europe, so that would be another factor. I feel like I can save up and go to Hawaii anytime. But Italy is the destination of a lifetime!! Such history, such beautiful architecture, food, so much to do and see.

However, not knowing you, maybe a relaxing beach honeymoon is more your style. If that's the case, choose Hawaii. It will probably cost less than Italy too.

We are going to Hawaii (Maui & Oahu) in July for our honeymoon! I think it depends on the trip you want. We wanted a lot of relaxing time, and I think in some place like Europe we wouldn't get that since there would be SO much sightseeing.

For me, I would pick Italy because I have always wanted to go to Europe, but obviously I’ve never gone so 🤷‍♀️. I have a friend who moved to HI a couple years ago and loves it, she posts the most beautiful pictures. September is supposed to be a good time to visit HI as far as weather and crowds, though it is technically during hurricane season. I think it depends on what you imagine doing during your honeymoon, my FH and I aren’t the type to just lay on a beach so we would have different experiences in Italy and HI.

I'm a little biased, because we just did 12 nights in Italy for our honeymoon in March and it was amazing! Four nights each in Rome, Parma and Venice...I have so many pictures of food!

I have been to both. For me, it would depend on how much time you have and how active you want to be. Jet lag will take a few days to get over (both there and back) so if you don't have a lot of time then I would save Italy for when you do. Hawaii on the other hand is doable in a short amount of time and is very relaxing while also having fun activities at the same time.

I think it totally depends on where you live. We were actually deciding between Italy and Hawaii as well, and ultimately decided on Hawaii. We live on the east coast and I've been to Italy twice before, including having studied abroad there. Even though I have yet to actually go to Hawaii, I'm sure you can't go wrong with either destination. If you live closer to the west coast, I'd say go to Italy and if you live closer to the east coast, I'd choose Hawaii. I would suggest picking the more expensive destination because it's your honeymoon and it's a great excuse to go somewhere you might not otherwise make time to travel to!
