Matching The Groomsman To Bridesmaid

Becoming a Mrs, on December 15, 2015 at 9:40 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

I am trying to figure out a way to match my whole wedding party. The bridesmaid dresses are "biscotti colored" - a light brown. But I HATE brown suits. I am trying to hard to figure out how I can get the groomsman to coordinate. Any suggestions?

They can wear a biscotti colored shirt instead of a brown suit.

Blue suits (dark blue/navy) with brown shoes/belts. colored ties, white shirts.

Depending on formality, a blue suit would look great. Don't feel like they need to be super matchy, this isn't prom.

I was considering dark blue or a light grey. Something about the light grey suits I am drawn too for some reason, but want to make sure it goes together.

What about a tan suit and white shirts? And tan and biscotti striped ties?

If you google biscotti bridesmaid dresses, a lot of the weddings seemed to go with varying shades of gray with white shirts and dark ties. I love that clean look.

Maybe a shade or two darker on the suit but I think that looks great. I love the more cream tie and pocket square rather than the exact same color. If your wedding is more formal, you can switch it to a darker tie.

That gray looks great! I'm a big fan of gray tuxes/suits. Much more modern than a traditional black.

I do like the light grey and cream. They look really good together. My bro and SIL had those color BM dresses and they had the guys wear black with a tan vest. It looked really good together. Here are a few pics if you want an idea.

I love that 'biscotti' color, and it seems to go well with a lot of different colored suits for the groomsmen (khaki, grey, navy, black). I love the picture @Jeanne posted of the grey suits!

Not to be all devil's advocate, but I personally cannot stand when the groomsmen match the bridesmaids. It doesn't make sense - your other half doesn't wear a vest in the same color of your dress for a normal event, why make it look like you're going to prom? Men can be in any neutral (gray, cream, black, brown, navy), and women in whatever color your choose.

I firmly believe the only appropriate color for a vest is black or navy. Those light ones scream 90's to me, unless you're in a full, full tux.
