Matching shoes and ties

Sarah, on December 18, 2017 at 11:16 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hey all. I've been scouring the internet for pictures to play out a few options in my head about wedding party attire and have come up dreadfully short. There don't seem to be pictures that match what I'm thinking. Hopefully y'all can give me some feedback!

My wedding boquets will be very colorful (pops of red, orange, blue, green, white, purple, and hot pink). The bridesmaid boquets will be a random mixture of those same flowers, the groomsmen boutionneires will all be different and feature one of those flowers each (one red, one blue, one green, one purple). My groom's boutionneire will feature orange and I'm wearing orange shoes. Hence the questions:

A) How would it look for each bridesmaid to wear a different color shoe to match a groomsman boutionneire? They are picking out their own beige/nude color dresses, groomsmen are wearing dark pants with white shirts and beige vests and picking out their own tie. B) Should I have the groomsmen tie match their boutionneire? Would it even look good together or is it too much of a hassle to do? The other plan is just tell them to pick out their own colorful shoes and colorful ties without specific guidance. C) Unplanned mismatch might fit the vision better and be way easier to execute?

If anyone has done something like this or can find pictures like this, input is greatly appreciated!

Honestly, it'd probably be a jumbled mess if you just let each GM pick a brightly colored tie. That is VERY open ended. I'd probably just buy their ties myself and buy the BMs shoes myself and have one match the other.

Is everyone okay with a beige/nude dress? I know I’m not a fan of nude, and I wouldn’t be comfortable in those colors. And not everyone looks good in nude, I actually can’t think of anyone who would tbh.
I agree with pp though, matching different colors would just be a mess, and depending on the dress, you might not even see it.

I think that what you're describing would make for a very cute picture on Pinterest, but in reality it's a headache that may make your BMs hate you. Even if you have them buy whatever style shoe they want, not everyone wants brightly colored shoes. If you really want ties matching boutonierres then you should probably provide them rather than expect GMs to pick them out, if the shade isn't right it could look terrible (think baby blue tie with bright blue flower).

I don’t really think that it would look cohesive. I would just pick some colors and stick with them.

It could be great or it could be a hot mess.
