Matching shirts for dads

Emily, on August 24, 2022 at 4:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hi, I have a dilemma about shirts. Our wedding is a Samoan wedding, and we are choosing to do a tropical/Samoan/blue theme. I was raised by my aunt and uncle, but am also very close to my own dad. That being said, they are both walking me down the aisle (dad and uncle). My plan is to have them wear matching shirt, but they are asking if I am SURE they should match… I thought I was but now I’m not so sure. Thoughts?

Thanks!

I would say give them a color(s) to go by and let them pick out their own. It could be that they’d rather not wear the same shirt and each express themselves.

I think it's going to look good either way, whether they decide they want to match or not! I wouldn't stress it, let them decide Smiley smile

I think they're saying they would rather not match. As long as they coordinate in color, I think it's acceptable to have different patterns. It will look great. Try also Tommy Bahama for more subtle patterns. Also, they're grown men. Matchy bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen may be more acceptable for the young, but I wouldn't ask that of someone older. Good luck.

I think is wonderful that they will be walking you to your future husband. How about different color shirts or different styles. As long as they are there for you it really doesn't matter what they wear. ❤

I wouldn’t personally have them match. It feels like too much of a comparison to each other, especially if they both helped raise you. I’d go for different colors and same pattern or different patterns but similar colors (like blue tones for example)
