Matching Save The Dates & Invites.

MrsNewvine, on March 17, 2014 at 12:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

We ordered STD magnets from Vistaprint & I love them! But, I'm not so in love with the matching invitations.

So, I wanna know, was it important to you to match all your stationary?

If you did or didn't, share some pictures!

Here's our Save The Date Smiley smile

Not for us. My FH designed our STD (which I loove) but we're getting the invites done professionally. I hope to have a nod to the STD in the creative somewhere but overall the feel will be a bit more formal and sophisticated in the invitations.

I don't think its important. Our Save the Dates were photos of us with minimal information and from our photographer. The invitations were from a separate company and really just "matched" the wedding style/theme. By matched, it just included a gold image.

Ours didn't. I used smile box for our std's, and made the invites myself using hobby lobby. STDs were white with a red and black playful motif, invites are in white gatefold cards, with a multi grey tone, with polka dots on silver glittered paper lol.

It was definitely not important at all.

Not all our our stationary matched and that's because my FH wanted it that way. He said that he doesn't want to go overboard with our theme and wants to have our family look at other designs we like as well.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Go with different invitations if you've found ones that you like better.

No, it wasn't important. We have the same "style" between the two but I don't think they necessarily match..

Ours aren't matched - they have a similar theme though which we are continuing in to our wedding 'theme'

Ours don't match. The save-the-dates are pretty casual, and the invitations are ultra formal.

Ours aren't going to match at all! I don't think people will really pay attention to that small of detail! I think we might go with the same writing colors, but that's about it.

The invite writing colors and envelop will be different then the picture.

I'm thinking of having the overall rustic theme, but not ordering the exact matching sample.

@CeCe I love, love, love your invites!

We're not doing matching save the dates and invitations. No one's going to notice, and if they do, they're not going to be all, "WHY DON'T THESE MATCH?"

We love our invitations, but there weren't any matching save the dates. The save the dates we picked are great, and we like the matching invitations, but they're square (which costs more to mail), so we're not using them.

Our didn't match. I ordered our Save the Date magnets from Paper Direct and our invites and response cards from Vistaprint. Our colors are gold, black and ivory so I just kept those colors in both Smiley smile

Our save the dates and invites don't match. Like others, our save the dates are much more casual and our invitations are formal.

We didn't. I used the same style (vintage feel), but they were different.

Our save the dates were also our Christmas cards, so no, they don't match.

They don't have to match. It's nice if they have the same feel though, like rustic...vintage...

I design wedding invites if you're interested! Here's the vintage design that I think is your style based on that adorable vintage-like photo you have on your save the date!
