Matching groom's attire with bride's attire

Kayla, on February 6, 2017 at 9:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

My wedding colors are burgundy and blush. My bridemaids will be wearing burgundy dresses and my maid of honor will be in blush. The groomsman will be in burgundy ties and blush boutineers. My dress is champagne/ivory tulle ballgown with a beaded lace bodice. I can't decide between grey tux or black tux for the men. I was thinking the groom could wear a champagne colored tie to match my dress. Would an ivory shirt work well with this? Or would it look kinda yellow? Searching for ideas.

I thought so at first, but FH has quite the personality. We ultimately are just keeping to our 2 main colors, light/ice blue and navy blue. FH picked out his charcoal suit, boxed shirt and Polk-a-dot tie.

We have to remind ourselves it's their wedding too Smiley smile compromise is key

@Kayla my dress is ivory, ivory shirts was my first instinct as well, but FH said no. He shut that down real quick. He said he thinks they look dirty.

    What does your FH think?

I do think ivory shirts look a little dingy. I have blush, gold and burgundy as my colors and we are doing navy tuxes. FH will have a burgundy bow tie and the other guys will have blush bow ties. I included a picture of FH in his getup. We are going to rent from Menguin and this is from the trial.

Also, allow vendors on your post! They're regular ol' people like you and me and cannot advertise their services in the forum.

I had a champagne and ivory dress as well. My husband wore a black tux with a white shirt and an ivory vest and tie.

That's a lot of burgundy!i have similar colors. MOH and JBM in blush, BMs in burgundy. Not sure about groomsmen yet. Maybe black? I don't want too much burgundy bc they will be next to the BMs. The dresses are from azazie( waiting for swatches!)

SuYa, my FH put me in charge of coordinating the bridal party colors. He seems to like every idea I come up with. He isn't big into the whole deciding colors thing. As long as they wear tuxes and match. He doesn't wanna wear a bowtie though. He said he prefers a tie.

@Margaret N. I wasn't expecting the navy and burgundy to look so good together. I like it a lot!

@Kayla Right? I love the combo. I originally wanted black but FH suggested the navy.

White shirts with ivory ties look AMAZING! Stop by a Mens Warehouse and have them show you. It surprisingly works stunningly while the ivory shirts just look dingy and dirty.
