Mason Jars?

Andrea, on October 28, 2019 at 10:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hi everyone!

For those who are using mason jars as favors/drinking glasses at your receptions, did you get ones with or without handles? And where did you guys purchase yours from? Looking for a good place to get them in bulk without breaking the bank!

I didn't use them for favors but I used them as centerpieces. They can be found in bulk at many places for cheap such as a local grocery store or craft stores. I would say for drinks it's easier having a handle.

For drinks I would personally prefer a handle. I would search online for the best deals.

Personally, I don't think I would take a glass I had been drinking out of all night home with me. It would be dirty and possibly sticky depending on what I drank. That aside, we didn't use Mason jars for our wedding, but we used them for favors for my mil's birthday party and we got them from Walmart. They weren't that expensive and they did not have a handle.

I hadn't really thought about that, Veronica! So in that situation, would you rather just use alternative cups (like plastic cups) during the reception and just take the mason jar as a favor?

Yes, I would rather use a different cup and then take the Mason as a favor. For my mil's birthday party we filled the jars with marshmallow, Graham crackers and chocolate to make smores. You could always fill them with candy or something cheap.
